A father of two young girls was allegedly shot dead by a neighbor who angrily confronted him after his daughter “touched the mulch” in his yard while the family was on a walk in their suburban Michigan neighborhood.
Nathan Morris, 35, was on a walk with his wife and daughters, ages 2 and 5, near their home in Canton just before noon Saturday when police say their neighbor Deveraux Christopher Johnson, 47, confronted him and the two got into an argument, Fox 2 Detroit reported.
Johnson was reportedly upset that Morris’ daughter “touched the mulch” on his property, the Michigan GOP wrote about Morris, a party member involved in local politics.
The neighbor took a gun out and started threatening the family,” the post alleged.
Nathan sent his family home and said that he would try and [defuse] the situation, but instead was shot and killed.”
Johnson fired multiple times, killing Morris, who was unarmed, prosecutors said.
When Canton police officers arrived, they discovered Morris with a gunshot wound in the street while the suspect had barricaded himself inside his home.
Morris was taken to a hospital, where he later died, police said.
After several orders to surrender, Johnson came out of his house repeatedly saying, “Praise to God Almighty” and was taken into custody. He was charged with first-degree murder and other felonies.
Morris, who worked at Ford as an engineer, recently got into politics and was affiliated with the Michigan GOP in Wayne. ***

I’m not a lawyer - and I don’t play one on TV - but I think manslaughter is a lesser included offense of murder, and referred to as 2nd degree. Then again, his state might classify it as you showed.
Best to say, “I’m sorry” and keep moving.
Hopefully, the only mulch the perp ever has to worry about is his own body’s.
As a perp, he found God a little earlier than those who make it to prison. This ought to play well with his lawyer’s defense.

Shortly after I moved to Tallahassee a neighbor phoned 911 and told them he was cutting his leg off and to send an ambulance. He tied a torniquet, poured rubbing alcohol on the blade of a new chainsaw and cut his leg off. The sheriff knew all about this guy and the family had begged them to arrest and Baker act him dozens of times. The sheriff said, “We rarely use the Baker act because if we bring him in, then his treatment comes out of my budget. That’s an open-ended commitment and comes down to a choice. Do you want deputies on the road, or do you want this one individual in a mental ward?”
The reason so many dangerous people who could be in prison aren’t, is simply budget. Cops try very hard not to arrest because the budget won’t support holding them, prosecuting them and incarcerating them.
Of course, this is before you get into the woke politics of letting rioters’ riot because the Democrats want chaos.
Even if he rides the needle before November.
I doubt that Nathan Morris knew any of this or he wouldn't have been walking his two and five year old daughters in front of Johnson's house.

None. Three years ago I had some ahole tailgate me into my hospitals parking lot.

Instead of stopping at the main entrance and alerting security(1st bad move) I pulled over in the parking, (second bad move) and then I got out of my car and walked over to his(3rd bad move) and said "Hey pal, what's the problem?'' and he gets out of his car, a late model silver BMW and starts swinging and shoving me around.
Now I was 63 at the time, I'm no ‘’big tough guy’’type but I did have plenty of martial arts training and I didn't listen to what I was taught, just as you said, if you can walk away do it.
I ended up having the guy arrested and charged with aggravated assault. He lost his drivers license for six months and got six months probation and had to go ‘’anger management’’.
Again, you right. If you can walk instead of talk(confront) do so.

No he did not shoot him because he stepped on his mulch.
that is a cunning lie to mitigate his punishment.
He shot him because he had an enormous amount of hate for his neighbor and the step caused him to explode and lose his control.
I hope the daughter who touched the mulch never finds out what triggered the wackadoodle to whack her dad.

They are now insisting that private landlords don’t screen their applicants whatsoever. Not for criminal background, credit, former landlord references, evictions, nothing. Cuomo and Peekaboo have sealed eviction records in NYS.
