None. Three years ago I had some ahole tailgate me into my hospitals parking lot.
Guy claimed I was tailgating HIM! and yours truly here did a dumb thing.
Instead of stopping at the main entrance and alerting security(1st bad move) I pulled over in the parking, (second bad move) and then I got out of my car and walked over to his(3rd bad move) and said "Hey pal, what's the problem?'' and he gets out of his car, a late model silver BMW and starts swinging and shoving me around.
Now I was 63 at the time, I'm no ‘’big tough guy’’type but I did have plenty of martial arts training and I didn't listen to what I was taught, just as you said, if you can walk away do it.
I ended up having the guy arrested and charged with aggravated assault. He lost his drivers license for six months and got six months probation and had to go ‘’anger management’’.
Again, you right. If you can walk instead of talk(confront) do so.
Nice people who are used to talking it out and fair play and all of that other veneer of civilization stuff often become victims because they are not prepared for the level of violence someone who's veneer has flaked off can deal out.
And the world needs more nice people in it not less.

Special Forces operators practice the same thing if they’re on a mission or whatever and they run into a possible conflict they bug out because their job is not to get into a conflagration and obstruct mission objectives. In other words they haul ass in a military fashion.
I had a coworker tell me one time that he used to CCW and I asked him if he still did and he said no he avoids bad areas and is usually in by 9pm.
