Incredible new data shows how Republicans now far outnumber Democrats in a state that was once deep purple
UK Daily Mail ^ | August 10 2024 | Stephen M. Lepore

Stunning new figures show how Florida has gone from being a 'purple' state with a roughly-even split between Republicans and Democrats to a deep red GOP enclave.

Florida was once considered the ultimate toss-up state, with Barack Obama winning it twice and the state having Democrat governors and members of the US Senate.

But it has become a GOP stronghold since Republican Governor Ron DeSantis won his gubernatorial election in 2022.

Though locking up FLA is a good thing, excess voters is not. Hitlary and xiden can “win” the popular vote because it doesn’t matter if kali and NY vote entirely dim(thank you founding fathers), but for every conservative that leaves these states and moves to FLA, the remaining dim plantation members % grows.

I don’t blame them for moving, but it is a negative side effect

Solid conservative governor and legislature.

Welcoming business climate, no DEI/CRT in publicly funded schools, the firing of crooked supervisors of elections, few and short-lived Covid restrictions, supportive of law enforcement, no license concealed carry, clean(er) voter rolls, mail-in ballots by request only . . .

I’m sure I’ve missed other reasons.

Love our guv!

2018 was not a great year for republicans. We lost the house, some senate races and governor races were tight. 2024 should be better with trump on the ticket.

Time for Conservative voters from places that are hopeless like the Northeast to start moving to Virginia.

I hear you and totally agree. Virginia was the home of several of our Founders and site of many of their dwellings, which have been restored. You can stand in the room at Montpelier where Madison wrote much of the Constitution and gaze out over the rolling green hillsides. Jefferson's Monticello and Washington's Mount Vernon are not far away.

That said, it will be tough to turn VA demographically because of two new factors since the lefties moved into NOVA: first, the radicalization of Charlottesville and demonization of Trump associated with it; and second, the pandemic-inspired movement of government bureaucrats farther out into middle Virginia when they started being able to Zoom their workplace. I watched the real estate numbers in the areas formerly considered just too far to commute to DC, like 50 to 100 miles out from the Washington Monunment, and prices literally doubled during the pandemic. I suppose Black Rock bought up a lot of the old 1920s to 1940s houses as well.

Still, I hold out hope that the Founders' home state will be restored to their memories.

“ Any Florida guys can explain?”

People tired of leftist areas moved there I would guess?

if the Democrats can ever swing Florida or Texas to solidly blue it would be over for the Republicans

Florida may be beyond flipping at this time, but they are trying very hard in Texas.

If conservatives leave CA, it gets fewer electoral college votes. It can get crazier, exposing the results of its policies.

Their 20 dollar minimum wage hasn’t been successful. How long before they go to 25?

Oh, and I forgot that the Zero administration sent loads of muslim immigrants into the Appalachians, and particularly the Roanoke area, as part of its effort to neutralize any and all conservative or Christian strongholds through its Community Survey as part of the Census—divide and conquer, funded by taxpayers.

In 2017, muslims won a fight to build a mosque in Culpeper. There is or was a jihad training camp in Red House, not far from Appomattox.

Also in the south west, Washington and Lee University has been scrubbing all references to General Lee, one of the funders and founders of Washington and Lee (along with George Washington).

We need Republicans in Florida for the time being because the dead vote there, and we all know they vote Democratic! In fact, a dead man won the 2012 election for tax collector in Orlando.

Both of my parents are buried in Jacksonville. I’m afraid they are voting Democratic.

Probably somewhere in the middle of the state, like Ocala, Gainesville, or Orlando.

In 1954 the Communist Party of the USA was outlawed. At the time, even liberals like Hubert Humphrey said the CPUSA was more like a criminal organization than a political party. Nowadays I have trouble seeing a difference between today’s Democrats and the Communists of old. Perhaps the Democratic Party needs to be outlawed as well?
