Heritage Foundation leader has long received spiritual guidance from group and his policy goals align with its teachings
Kevin Roberts, the Heritage Foundation president and the architect of Project 2025, the conservative thinktank’s road map for a second Trump presidency, has close ties and receives regular spiritual guidance from an Opus Dei-led center in Washington DC, a hub of activity for the radical and secretive Catholic group.
Roberts acknowledged in a speech last September that – for years – he has visited the Catholic Information Center, a K Street institution headed by an Opus Dei priest and incorporated by the archdiocese of Washington, on a weekly basis for mass and “formation”, or religious guidance. Opus Dei also organizes monthly retreats at the CIC.

I trust Project 2025. I trust the Heritage Foundation. And even though I know little to nothing about Opus Dei, I'm leaning towards trusting them based on the bias this Guardian article is throwing their way.

The article did go on to say John Paul II promoted Opus Dei and Francis is against it.

Opus Dei is a Conservative group within the Catholic church. Kind of the opposite of the Jesuits which Frances is one. Don’t have other specifics.

Trump can say that, but his close aids and associates are heavily invested in it.
Opus Dei is simply an organization for Catholics who are serious about their faith. There’s nothing creepy or spooky or nasty about it, but some members keep their membership to themselves in order to avoid the suspicions of lefty Catholics and non-Catholics. Wasn’t the late Justice Scalia rumored to be a member?

The Guardian is a communist rag. It’s purpose is to routinely slander Christians and other conservatives. The aforementioned publication never criticizes Islam in any way, shape or form.
If The Guardian is against Opus Dei, that’s a good sign that Opus Dei is a good organization.
The Jesuits are a semi monastic religious order of priests and brothers. They are partially like parish priests but have stricter views of poverty and are missionaries, unlike diocesan priests who generally stay in one diocese giving pastoral care.
They are trained to be able to operate independently. Their training is longer than that for most priests, so they tended to become a sort of intellectual elite, heavily involved in education with their own universities and schools. Probably more than any other order they were involved in scientific research and discovery, in particular astronomy. Jesuit missionaries reached China and fascinated the Emperor with western science and learning. Had the Vatican listened to them 1680–1720, and permitted Liturgy in Chinese, much of China might have been converted to Christianity. .
After Vatican II however, many Jesuits became increasingly liberal. They took “the preferential option for the poor” and sometimes an explicitly political stance in liberation theology. Fr Jorge Bergoglio, aka the future Pope Francis, had a difficult time as Jesuit Provincial in Argentina in 1973–79.
You can be a lay person who attends mass at a diocesan or a Jesuit or a Franciscan or Dominican etc parish and the prayers and worship and numerous bible readings at mass is the same and the sermon depends on the preacher. You wouldn’t see a difference.
Opus die on the other hand is a group within the church consisting of both clerics and laity. Its stated mission is to help its lay and clerical members to seek Christian perfection in their everyday occupations and within their societies. Lay people make up the majority of its membership; the remainder are secular priests under the governance of a prelate elected by specific members and appointed by the Pope
Opus Dei emphasizes the “universal call to holiness”: the belief that everyone should aspire to be a saint, as per Jesus’ commandment to “Love God with all your heart” (Matthew 22:37).and “Be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.” (Matthew 5:48)
Opus Dei exhorts its members and all lay Catholics to “find God in daily life” and to perform their work as a service to society and as an offering to God. It stresses the importance of work and professional competence.

The Da Vinci code is really bad fiction. Opus dei dates to the late 1800s and doesn’t have monks, leave alone albino assassin monks.
