BREAKING - FBI statement on Trump assassination attempt:
"What struck former President Trump in the ear was a bullet, whether whole or fragmented into smaller pieces, fired from the deceased subject’s rifle."

And, if they can’t locate the bullet, how can they possibly say that it came from Crook’s rifle? I call BS on this whole thing.
Some rifle calibers with extreme velocity in custom barrels with fast twist (1:7 or 1:9) place such high rotational speeds on the bullet when it exits the barrel at @ 3700fps. and 370,000 rpm can cause a bullet to vaporize or lose its copper sheath and the lead or steel core may or may not remain intact. Even solid copper bullets have their rotational limits. This is not common in any factory ammunition and not in a .223/5.56 caliber. Depending upon bullet weight a .223 will be from 2,500 to 3,000 fps depending upon bullet weight. Most factory 55 gr .223 ammo is @ 2,900 fps. Factory ammunition is never at hyper velocity to cause a bullet to rip itself apart.
Hand loaders are aware of this with lighter bullets for target shooting and varmint hunting. You can load some .223 36 gr bullets with compressed powder loads to 3,700fps. For a long time introduced in 1935 the 220 Swift was the king of speed with 50 gr bullets exceeding 4,000fps. Loading to such speeds wears out barrels fast however.
So no Ray you imbecile the bullet did not fragment, detonate, or shed its copper sheath. It hit Trump's ear, went through the body of a supporter in the stands, and blew up on video as it hit the railing or took out the hydraulic cable of the heavy lifter to Trump's left. The video's show two bullets to Trump's left where one hit the stand rail and one hit a hydraulic hose. In either case one bullet was photographed with a high speed camera after it hit Trump and than as it hit the patriot in the stands and than the rail or the hydraulic line. Crook was using factory ammo. This factory ammo killed one innocent hero and wounded two others. What contemptibility from the FBI. Every hand loader and target shooter is reading what Ray said and shaking their heads in disgust.
“fragments” ... in other words, FBI still pretending like Trump might have gotten hit with shrapnel ... President Trump needs to fire or reassign the top four layers of FBI in DC ... period ...
He use a 55 gr bullet in a high twist barrel?
I tend to agree. The whole thing reeks bad. From video released a couple days ago from the roof where the alleged suspect lay dead, as the camera pans it looks towards the stage/podium. That raised view from that roof really put it into perspective. The stage appeared so close to that rooftop I was floored.
At that distance a lousy shot with a scope could easily maintain a 10” group from that perch. The whole thing looks so bad it appears to be a hit job on Trump.
Bingo.
If one has a 1:7 twist, a 55gr projectile is spinning a bit higher that what it was designed for. The risk is higher that it will fragment with respect to a 62gr bullet made for those angular velocities. There are graphics out there addressing this for the 556 in terms of twist vs. bullet type that should be used.
Regardless, how do you run ballistics on a fragged bullet unless you find a substantal chuck of the jacket? Highly doubtful.
Maybe he used frags. Who knows.
The shooter was on Trump's right. The condensation trail is shown after going past Trump. Probably the first or second shot, but certainly one of the first three that were spaced apart with considered purpose. After a pause, the next five shots were chaotic and probably carelessly aimed. A ninth report was heard, maybe a Butler Police officer firing at the rooftop shooter. After about another seven seconds, a tenth shot killed the rooftop shooter.
* * * When seconds count, ***** * the SS will be there in 15 *
BTW, that photo was claimed to be taken at 1/8000th of a second. If so, the streak is not the bullet, since it would have left less than a 4" long trail on the image. As others have written about, it's the condensation that follows the shock wave of the super sonic bullet. But it's odd: no professional photographer uses that shutter speed (because it seriously sacrifices light gathering capability) - unless they want to catch something impressive that is fleeting in time, like an exploding watermelon.
That bastid Christopher Wray, who I have despised since he was “confirmed” OPENED UP A WHOLE QUESTION, WHICH HAD ...NO BASIS IN FACT...NO BASIS IN REALITY AND NO BASIS EXCEPT IN HIS MIND.
The social media is alive with the TRUTH.
WHY IS CHRIS WREY STILL ANYWHERE NEAR ANY GOVERNMENT AGENCYF???
The bullet could have zinged off a metal pole or railing, but, there would be clear evidence of that. We’d likely have heard that, too.
I was going to point out it really doesn’t matter, but “Someone Else” just beat me to it. :-)
You are watching controlled State Run media, and not real news or real journalism.
They are slow on reporting because they are waiting on their handlers to tell the what to say.
You need to turn off the puppet news and get on X.
No kidding.
Wouldn’t it be a hoot if Trump dropped a Truth Social post asking Director Wray if there is anyone in the upper levels of this Administration who is competent?
Damage control statement after FBI dipped into ear truther nonsense randomly ... have they offered anything good since the attempt on Trump’s life? Still no motive given of the shooter?
Trump surviving a bullet makes him into a figure who enters history and legend. He has become the Chosen One. The feds appear to have a problem with that.
...Fragmented Into Smaller Pieces...
The Aura of Protectiveness that surrounds Trump like a Multiphasic deflector shield!
Clean up on aisle 10.
BTW, that photo was claimed to be taken at 1/8000th of a second.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Is that according to the photographer who took the pic?
If he really was at 1/8000 then that streak is definitely a vapor trail and not the bullet itself.
Like you said, that does seem like an unusually fast shutter speed. I wonder if 1/8000 is anything like typical in those conditions? One thing is it would reduce the possibility of motion blur, which could have been an issue if he was shooting handheld or using a telephoto lens.
“self-fragmenting bullets. They spontaneously fragment when near the target.”
Right. Happens all the time. What would be the point of shooting a bullet that would reach the target intact? That’s just crazy talk!
That’s why ballistics labs only have equipment to test minuscule portions of former bullets. Oh wait ... they don’t.
What the HELL was Wray thinking when he spouted this nonsense? It only took a day for him to walk it back. He must’ve taken major flak.
