Vice President Kamala Harris will be an easier candidate to defeat in November than President Joe Biden, former President Donald Trump said Sunday after Biden dropped out as the Democrat’s de facto nominee.

Biden endorsed Harris as his replacement about 30 minutes after announcing that he would not run for reelection on Sunday.

It is unclear if Harris can win the nomination. She holds a 36 percent approval rating nationwide, according to FiveThirtyEight.

When you assume anything, it makes an ASS out of U and ME.

Besides, that horse fled the barn in 2008. Neither of Obama’s fathers (biological or adopted) were US citizens. His mom was underage when Barry was born.

Trump is totally capable of blowing this. Going too hard will make Kamala a sympathetic character, increasing her support from young, minority and women voters.

this election is by no means a done deal.

Re: 79 - good post.

The comments about Harris being “loose” sexually which multiple posters on multiple threads being up will *never* be brought up by the Trump campaign, or either of the candidates.

I’m willing to wager any poster to that effect.

Good analysis.

I think the Democrats were prepared to write off 2024 and blame the loss on Joe Biden. Now that he has withdrawn, I assume they will blame a loss on Kamala Harris.

If it turns out they can steal another four years, it doesn’t matter who the puppet is.

If President Trump wins, the fake news narrative will be that he only won because of how bad the Democrat candidate was.

Trump doesn’t have to do much at all, to make Harris look like an idiot whose incompetence is a danger to the Nation. She does that fine all by herself.

It’s a tough place to call home. Fifth Generation Northern Californian, and my heart is broken. The leftists have destroyed it, with Newsom leading the way. What I’m looking at is the visceral/hysterical anti-Trump psychosis that has taken firm hold of most democrats, combined with a slick-talking, good-looking guy who even had Sean Hannity eating out of his hand when he did the interview. Hard to beat that, facts about ruining the finest state in the union notwithstanding. I do think he could get them close enough to steal another election.

But the case never made it to court because no one had ‘Standing’.

So, there is no controlling authority on ‘Natural Born Citizenship. Unless you consider that no one has standing to be controlling authority.

It should also be mentioned that ‘Standing’ is no where in the constitution and has no appearance in US law before 1922 Fairchild v. Hughes .

It seems strange that no Judge before Louis Brandeis ever thought of this very useful tool to dodge too hot to handle cases.

They’re afraid to pass her over for fear of a rebellion from blacks in the party. They only wild card is the Obamas. If they endorse someone else, the Dems might avoid a civil war, but only then.

Agreed. They have race based identity politics and abortion, that’s it.

Trump needs to navigate the race based BS by going right into the belly of the beast and campaign on Dem failure. For 50-60 years the Dem party has had full control of every run down city in the US.

His message needs to be centered on the fact that when it comes to minority constituencies, especially AA’s, Dems promise everything, deliver absolutely nothing and every four years blame someone else, collect the votes, and go right back to doing nothing.

On abortion, he needs to succinctly state that power lies with the states not, specifically their voters and elected reps. It is 100% out of control at the federal level for good, thus it no longer matters who gets elected Presideint now, or ever.

“He’s charming, smart, and telegenic.”

If he’s smart, he will wait for 2028.

This election cycle is going to be about the Biden/Harris administration’s record of failure - it’s already baked in the cake.

President Trump will ask voters if they are better off than they were four years ago.

Newsom will be between a rock and a hard place - should be defend the Democrat’s dismal record or distance himself from it? Either choice is fraught with difficulties with only several months left.

And complicating things even more for Newsom is the fact that his nomination may not be uncontested - in which case he would have to tap dance even more and will get caught flip flopping like crazy.

If he’s smart he will decline.

What meaning does it really have in today’s world?

It seems possible to me that a born citizen whose parents were not citizens at the time of his birth, could be just as patriotic and admirable a candidate as one whose parents were citizens.

Conversely, being born here of citizen parents doesn’t in any way guarantee that a candidate would be ideologically pro-American and free of some foreign influences and loyalties.

The world is very different now.

He also comes across as more than a little sleazy, has made a colossal mess of California, and presents as a very weak character, especially compared with Trump.

Nope, they will have it locked down in a few days, in time for their ludicrous “virtual roll call.” Idk who their nominee will be, but he/she/it has already been selected.
