Vice President Kamala Harris will be an easier candidate to defeat in November than President Joe Biden, former President Donald Trump said Sunday after Biden dropped out as the Democrat’s de facto nominee.

Biden endorsed Harris as his replacement about 30 minutes after announcing that he would not run for reelection on Sunday.

It is unclear if Harris can win the nomination. She holds a 36 percent approval rating nationwide, according to FiveThirtyEight.

About 4,000 Democratic delegates, meeting in Chicago from Aug. 19-22, will pick the Democratic Party’s nominee. Most are committed to Biden. After his abrupt announcement, they are not bound by any law or party rules to back anyone.
Biden was the party’s presumptive nominee, but he has no direct power over choosing the delegates’ formal nominee.

Harris needs the support of 1,969 of the 3,936 Democratic delegates to secure her nomination at the August convention.

I don’t think the Deep State knows what they want. They’re fractured, and they’re trying to figure it out in real time. They never expected Biden to be foolish enough to demand a debate with Trump, and they never expected Trump to survive an assassination attempt.

What meaning does it really have in today’s world?

The world is very different now.

It doesn't matter what what people think it means now or the character of citizens now.

The purpose of having a constitution defining and limiting the powers of government and having defined processes restricting the changing of that document is that the meaning of articles and amendments to that constitution will be will preserve the freedom of the citizens of that nation and for generations not yet born.

If the meaning of the constitution can be changed by changing the meaning of the words there in, then the document may well not exist because the judges interpreting that document can read into the words whatever suits their fancy and will assuage their conscience.

Many such judges that held such views have sat on the Supreme Court over the years and the Republic has been ill served by them. They have done great evil by not following the origenal meaning of the framers. Roe v. Wade, the Incorporation Doctrine, and abuses of the 14 Amendment that are too numerous to list. All come about by judges reading into the words of the constitution what they want to read.

Not looking forward to the shameless project to rehabilitate Kamala we are about to see. It will be all-hands-on-deck and vomit inducing.

The Constitution can be changed; and it has often been clarified.

Does your interpretation of ‘natural born citizen’ require that both parents be citizens? Or only one?

Trump shouldn’t have knocked Joe out of the race.

I wish he would have listened to me.

I’m glad he didn’t. When Joe got knocked out, he took the whole Democratic Party down with him. There’s no way his replacement will be able to distance him or herself enough from Biden or avoid the dogged questions about why they covered up his senility for 4 years.

Don’t bet on it. There are lots of democrats who would vote for a dead yellow dog or even Kamila before they would vote for a Republican.

The Constitution can be changed; and it has often been clarified.

The Constitution can be changed. There is no provision for clarification.

If clarification is needed one should go to the debates in congress during the ratification debates.

Had the Court gone to the congressional debates on the 14 Amendment United States v. Wong Kim Ark would have been decided differently.

The Natural Born Citizenship is transmitted patrilineally. The father confers on the child Natual Born Citizenship.

“The Natural Born Citizenship is transmitted patrilineally. The father confers on the child Natual Born Citizenship.”

Where is that written down?

And what about Kamala Harris, anyway?

It’s ‘clarified’ - perhaps you would prefer ‘interpreted’ - by the Supremes all the time.

To me, as a naturalized US citizen in 1970, what matters most is the Personna of the individual demonstrated by actions and words. Natural born citizen stipulated in the constitution certainly excludes me running for president, and I have zero problem with that. Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, Senator Schumer, Gov Newsom, etc all had US citizen parents. But I will never vote for them. Those people are harming the country by their actions. I have more concurrence of ideas with Ted Cruz, Senator Rubio, entrepreneur Vivek, etc. and I would gladly support them for a presidential run. Because their ideology benefits the country and agrees more with how the framers envisioned future of this great country. Lastly, I learn from everybody, and what I learned from democrats is to avoid attacking people in republican party. Like Nikki Haley said at the convention, she is endorsing Trump because she agrees on 80% of issues. President Reagan said something similar. Purists shrink the votes causing defeats in elections. When you lose election, you have no power to change any agenda, no matter how purely conservative.

See Post #43 Natural Born Citizen is defined by Vattel.

Harris’ parents were not naturalized before her birth. She is not a Natural Born Citizen.

Obama’s father (at least the man he claims is his father) was not a US Citizen so he is not a Natural Born Citizen.
