Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg weighed in on former President Trump’s decision to elevate Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) to his 2024 running mate, comparing him to former Vice President Mike Pence.
“I guess maybe not as a politician but as a human being what I’ll say is that I hope things work out a little bit better for JD Vance than they did for Mike Pence,” he said Friday evening on “Real Time with Bill Maher.”

Things could’ve worked out a lot better for Pence, too, if he’d done his job and not caved to the left. Pence stood at the precipice and was handed his finest moment, and he flubbed it.
Perhaps for the best. We always assumed the left were fools, but four years of Biden has surely removed all doubt. It’s given Trump his very best case to make against the left. And so far, I feel like Vance is going to do just fine.
As for Judas Pence? He has his shot. Now it’s time for someone else to do the job Pence refused to do.

Pete, I think you ought to worry about your own game. Plenty there to keep you busy. Amtrak trains derailing which my federal income tax dollars subsidize and also pay your salary incidentally, airplanes with doors and landing gear assemblies falling off, 30 tons of ammonium nitrate disappearing enroute from WY to CA, Jordanian nationals showing up at Quantico in a truck. I’d go on, but my fingers are getting tired.
