Many prominent Court reform proposals from recent years fall into two main categories: those that would change the size of the Supreme Court (sometimes called “court packing”) and those that would impose term limits or age limits for Supreme Court Justices. Congress has broad authority to set or change the size of the Supreme Court through ordinary legislation, but implementation of term or age limits would likely require a constitutional amendment.

That would be like Congress blocking the passage a proposed amendment to repeal the 17th amendment.

It is bad enough that idiots passed the 17th Amendment. There was great wisdom in Senators being chosen by state legislatures - it was all part of that great balancing of the system. But $$$ spoke louder - and disinformation/fake news/propaganda...
With the current focus on returning to constitutional originalism Biden’s attempts to redesign our form of government are going to hit a wall.

Sotomayor is allegedly in poor health so her term may end in the near future. As for the “ new justice” perhaps there should be a minimum IQ limit.

As far as I have experienced, once Congress installs a judge onto the Supreme Court, that judge enters the judicial branch of gov’t., and shall not be trucked with.

The three branches have never been equal in power. Legislature, Executive and then Judiciary - in that order. Leg. can limit or impeach & remove members of other branches. They can cut off funding. The Founders could not foresee the power-hungry Congress we have now.
The Biden handlers are reaching for straws. They are trying to get their base excited over something. Anything at all! Nothing is working so they are suddenly going to try to convince the college-educated liberal screeching white women (about the only group still voting for them) that the Executive Branch can just wave a magic wand and add a few Justices to the Supreme Court. They can’t.
The Congress is too divided to impeach any Supreme Court justices for what ridiculous things the leftists Democrats think are impeachable offenses.
I’m open to term limits on Supreme Court justices as long as we pass term limits for Members of Congress first.

Congress needs to clean it’s own house and install term limits.
However, I would get a great deal of pleasure from Uncle Joe increasing the head count and then President Trump is the guy filling the vacancies.
I definitely think tightening up some ethics wouldn’t hurt. They are paid well for 9 months of work. I’d say they should be under the same 10 dollar gift max as the rest of the federal government. No trips, no staying at homes, no paintings, ect. Definitely no foreign travel or gifts.
Correct. The legislative branch can alter the size of the USSC by adding justices at any time. However, they cannot shrink the size of the court except by death, resignation or impeachment. After such a death, resignation or impeachment, they would need to pass legislation to redefine the number of justices. And if the president is hostile to such a move, the legislature would need to be able to muster to votes to override a veto.
