The local Pennsylvania sheriff defended the armed officer who encountered former President Donald Trump’s would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks on the rooftop moments before the shooting — claiming it was the right call to retreat after the gunman pointed the weapon at him.
Butler County Sheriff Michael Slupe confirmed Monday that a local officer made contact with Crooks after being hoisted up to the roof by another officer — but fled when the sniper pointed his AR-style assault rifle at the officer.
“I would have done the same thing, absolutely,” the sheriff said.
comment. “All I know is the officer had both hands on the roof to get up on the roof, never made it because the shooter had turned towards the officer, and rightfully and smartly, the officer let go,” Slupe told KDKA.
The gunman immediately fired up to eight rounds at Trump, wounding him and killing a hero firefighter in the stands. Two others were also wounded.

Pennsylvania, The Keystone Kops State
Thought this through the same way. Except it occurred to me that this guy could have come in the night before and stashed the rifle wrapped in a white sheet of cloth, laid it alongside the siding edge. Walk- in with a couple of mags tucked on inside of pants. That occurred to me- but even so the entire property of this company should have been secured the night before. Apparently people did see this guy come in, and the car so the fibbies say- had explosives in it (for a getaway? surely didn’t think he would?). And what appears to be a drone photo of the guy from overhead with the Demolition Ranch T-Shirt back visible as well as side of his face.
They should have gone up with guns locked and loaded and shot him on sight.
There’s no wondering what he was going to do.
Not as many as there were then- you’re right. Salute! To!
I'm not going to try to change your opinion, but when I see or hear comments like yours, my head spins. Poor performance can mean a lot of things, mostly incompetence. That does not mean malice. Its not solid evidence of a plot to kill Trump. But you need solid evidence there was not a plot to kill Trump to change your mind? Ok...but I hope you hear yourself.
That was my reaction as well
An iron sited old style mossberg 17 shot tube magazine with 22 Magnums would be possible at 125 yards. Hunters of small game might say. We don’t know the actual weapon used, or any accessory scope rangefinder whatever.
Can you not read?

No I can’t. I missed that week in first grade.
Good point!
I have observed that the Biden Administration does not want Trump to win in November.
I have observed that the Biden Administration does not care very much about adhering to the law.
I have observed that Trump will win in November unless he is stopped, and — so far — the Biden Administration has been unable to stop him.
I say these people are desperate.
‘Serving and Protecting’ is just marketing bushwah. They’re not legally required to do either or liable for failure to act. But they do provide muscle to the government/mafia to keep the proles in line.
Was it a he?
Was it a he?
> I certainly understand that “firing into the air” or “shoot to wound” are questionable tactics that can go badly <
Agreed. And I advocated for neither. Firing into the ground would have been a good option. And as I’m sure you will agree, “shoot to wound” is nonsense. It only works in the movies. Shoot to distract is what I was going for.
> My current position is that the poor performance shows that the FBI and Secret Service were actively involved in a plot to kill Trump. <
I won’t argue against that. At some point, a string of coincidences are no longer coincidences. That’s why I’d like to see RFK Jr in Trump’s next government. Yes, RFK Jr is a leftist. But he’d be the perfect person to investigate this assassination attempt. He’d be a bulldog.
Even if he had no shot He could have fired warning shots just to alert rest of LE. It would have been quicker than using his radio
Only obamaholes fire “warning shots.”
100% in agreement with everything you just said.
And I have posted numerous times now that Biden and his handlers have set the stage for all the violence that has occurred. They created the environment and let pliable mush minds fester on the hate speech until some unstable wacko goes unhinged. I dont think they have actually orchestrated an assassination, but they have certainly facilitated it without managing details. Much like letting Antifa or BLM thugs burn cities and not see justice. Are they capable of orchestrating an assassination? Yes, and they may do that yet. But I dont think this was that event.
The problem with what they have done in setting the stage, is they dont control the players. Given Bidens drop in polls and all the attention his dementia has been getting, if you were Biden, would you want to risk a (failed) assassination attempt right before the GOP convention? I mean it could have gone either way, but the down side of that risk, which the dems are now experiencing, was elevating Trump to almost divine status. I think as much as many dems would wish ill to Trump, Biden wouldnt risk the blow back. But he didnt control the shooter here, a shooter that wasnt that good. Had he been better, we’d be mourning Trump today.
Until I have more facts and less speculation, I will reserve judgement about the appropriateness of police actions.
Not when I had the enemy in front of me. When I did get hit, I was carrying a wounded Marine to cover. It’s what men do.
We need cops who are men. President Trump came within a quarter inch of death and a good man died and two more were wounded because that cop failed in his duty.
If you wear the uniform, you face fire - or get a sex change operation.
By accounts so far the counter sniper had the guy in his scope for 3 minutes. Command and control knew about a guy on a roof and did call for President Trump to be cleared from the podium. Few in the media are asking that question.
Just wanted to ping your response because it is the biggest unanswered question and people should be fired at the Secret Service because of it.
