Local police encountered attempted-assassin Thomas Crooks just moments before he tried to kill former president Donald Trump — but failed to stop the gunman despite the clear threat, according to a report.
After rallygoers spotted Crooks on the roof of a manufacturing plant just 130 yards from the stage where Trump was speaking just after 6 p.m. Tuesday, police were notified and one officer climbed a ladder to investigate, law enforcement officials said on the condition of anonymity.
There the officer encountered Crooks, who pointed his AR-style rifle at them.
The officer then backed down the ladder, and Crooks immediately took aim and loosed eight shots at the former president – grazing him in the ear, killing one bystander in the rally crowd, and gravely wounding two others.

I’m doubting the story.. cop goes up on the roof, shooter points a gun at the cop and the cop backs down... Not buying it.

Interesting possibility. But what of the two agents stage right who watched this stand off happen and yet did nothing?
Remember. If eyewitness saw this happen, so did agents.
This isn’t Uvalde and a worthless comparison.

Speculation is rampant everywhere. Why not wait for facts vice hearsay.
May have saved trumps life as the shooter had to aim quickly and shoot.
The videos I saw had the two agents return fire and someone shouting GUNMAN DOWN!

I might have missed it but I have not seen one picture or video of this cop-shooter encounter.
I didn’t say that everything sounds fake ..just this one. And even I said it sounds fake..could be real.
First, all the eye witnesses who saw the shooter on the roof have never mentioned that a cop climbed up the ladder to confront him. In fact, the eye witnesses assert the opposite: law enforcement did nothing!

But did this happen at the back of the building? Out of sight of the agents stage right?
Or were they watching this unfold like eyewitnesses did?
We know now that the ladder was a permanent installation for roof access. It was not blocked, this is another key to understanding the true nature of this act of political treason.
You keep denying the obvious. Cops can be cowards. Soldiers can be cowards. All the training in the world can lead to running for your life when TSHTF.
