Idon’t care what you think of his politics—former President Donald Trump just struck one of the most iconic poses in U.S. history.
His fist-raised salute of defiance is surely enough to win him re-election to the White House. Especially if the American people have to choose between a doddering incumbent and the man who got to his feet seconds after an assassination attempt and punched the air with blood trickling down his face.

The Iwo Jima photo was posed.
This is really going to sound weird, but I have been following a guy on youtube. He is religious and he stated that Biden would have a disastrous debate. In that same YouTube he said that something would happen that would change Biden’s campaign.Ill have to watch him more often, he has God ear.
The rest of the list (IMHO):
I just imagine Biden’s campaign staff looking at that photo and thinking: What now?? Their jobs just got infinitely harder.
I almost feel sorry for them. [Well, not really]
No doubt Biden will try to counter this by trying to wipe out all credit card and mortgage debt. Or something.
Welcome back. Are you dry yet?
Several images from this event are historical and will be iconic. Trump is a bad azz.
As a side note we can hope and expect that Mr. Trump rakes in over a $100 million overnight.
As an aside, I am reminded of a novel written by Trump hater Stephen King back in the 1970s. It was called "The Dead Zone".
The plot culminates in a man with clairvoyant ability trying to kill a local politician giving a speech, convinced that he will someday become president and start a nuclear war. The assassination attempt fails but during the shooting, the politician grabs a nearby child to use as a shield against the bullets coming his way. A news photographer snaps a photo of the politician using the child as a shield that runs in all the newspapers the next day.
So while the assassination is a failure, the man's political career is ruined and he never becomes president.
I'm sure Stephen King is thinking about the contrast between Trump and his fictional character tonight!
Big strong men need that role.
The Iwo Jima photo was posed.
I don’t care.

It actually wasn’t staged.
The first flag raising failed to stay upright. Joe Rosenthal took the iconic photo when Marines accurately raisedthe US flag.
Google says.....
Was the photo at Iwo Jima staged?
Rosenthal himself had inadvertently fueled the suspicions, as he later recounted, but, a Marine videographer who stood alongside him as the flag went up captured footage that shows the flag-raising in real time. Although accusations that the photo was posed have persisted over the years, those claims are baseless.Feb 21, 2020
Thought the same.
Just days ago, Biden said “It’s time to put Trump in a bullseye.”
Today, there was an assassination attempt against President Trump.— Sen. Marsha Blackburn (@MarshaBlackburn) July 13, 2024
Great movie. Walken was so good.
And now, President Biden has given up on his weekend in Delaware and returning early to the White House tonight.
Sniper on top of a building outside of the venue.
There is an interview online of a man who saw him scaling the building with a rifle and who tried to get the attention of the local police and/or secret service, but was ignored.
