That’s a silly analogy. Biden is at worst a lion with his strength somewhat attenuated. As pointed out elsewhere, the current occupant of the White House has a serious perch with serious advantages.
Steve Sailer at Unz uses a hundred or so words to say what should be evident to anyone with a pulse - even if some other Democrat has a greater chance of winning 2024, it matters not at all to Biden, because the most important thing to Joe’s personal interest is that if anyone wins, that man is him. So long as he’s within striking distance, and he is - he’s staying in. He won’t quit and they can’t make him.
In general, leaders don’t quit unless they’re forcibly removed. Democrats simply lack the force to take Joe out of the race.
Obviously, the Establishment, whoever they are precisely, doesn’t want Trump to win. And they feel that Biden’s knuckleheaded refusal to now gracefully bow out is going to get Trump elected.

In his analogy what is needed to remove the old guy at the top (of any organization) is an organized plan by skilled and intelligent people.
That may be the issue here.
It is not that the Biden clan is so powerful—it is that their opponents are disorganized and not all that smart or skilled.
It's not a matter of his age, it's a matter of his mental acuity. Trump is the same age as Biden and he is not wandering off looking for ice cream. I've met any number of 99-year old's that are as sharp as a tack. In fact, this last Father's Day I ran into a 99-year old WWWII/Korean War veteran at IHOP that had the waiting area captivated by his witty banter.
