Is France Heading for a Civil War?
NY Sun ^ | 28 June 2024 | Michel Gurfinkiel

If the National Rally passes the 289 seats limit, Mr. Macron is supposed to call upon Mr. Bardella to form the cabinet. This would be seen as a casus belli by the militant far left. Alternatively, Mr. Macron may cite law and order concerns to bar Mr. Bardella from the premiership and form an “apolitical” or “technical” cabinet. A move that the right may construe as a coup d’Etat.

The far left’s “civil war” threats should not be ignored and are not. Shops and restaurants are already barricading. Mayors — including the most liberal ones — are begging for police and gendarmerie deployment.

They fear “punitive raids” by the well-trained urban guerilla fighters known as the black bloc — a kind of left-wing “Invisible Empire” that periodically pops up in France and in other European countries — and large scale youth riots and arsons, just like one year ago.

>Macron would use it

France is stuck with Macron as President for the next couple years, but Le Pens young guy would become Prime Minister if they can get to 289 seats. Which gives orders to the military, I don't know. Which side do those in the military favor, I don't know. Hope the fence sitters note the lefty riots and wave the tri-color rather than the white flag Sunday! And that the tri-color is able to deal with the Je partita pas problem ("I won't leave") France's current hit song references. If those who like that gay Eurovision style actually combine with France's remaining norms maybe they'll be strong enough to take on the Islamic migrants.

Prelude to November here?

My thought exactly. I'm a helluva lot more worried about a civil war right here in the USA, The Left sees its socialist paradise, which it's about to impose, in danger. I fear they'll do almost anything to avoid losing.

Yes, the Israeli deep state is just as evil as the US deep state.

The French can be ruthless when they decide that they have had enough internal disorder. In the early 1960s, after the Algerian debacle, de Gaulle had the French police and military crush a demonstration by militant Algerian emigres wanting more benefits and privileges. Censorship suppressed the news coverage, but there were said to be scores of dead and hundreds of injured Algerian emigres.

I can imagine Macron letting things get bloody for a while, then forcibly suppressing the Left and calling for a government of national unity. The result could be that Bardella and the Right attain office but are restricted by the terms of their national coalition from governing as they have promised. That would weaken their appeal considerably.

I would argue prelude to November 2016 as well. Trump won, and the left did everything in their power to prevent him from doing anything. They’re all singing out of the same choir book.

From what I understand, in France the office of prime minister is a bit different than in other countries. The French president can pick whomever he wants as prime minister. No restrictions.

But the National Assembly can force a prime minister to resign by a vote of censure. So Macron could really gum things up if he wanted to. Appoint a centrist. If the National Assembly rejects him, appoint another centrist. Rinse and repeat.

If I’m wrong about the process here, I hope another Freeper corrects me.

It is going to be ugly.

Louie the 16th was the king of France, in 1789 (Steve Allen). The French revolution was a fascist revolution. The American revolution was a revolution for life, liberty and the pursuit of property.

I believe that every nation that allowed or encouraged illegal aliens to enter will undergo some sort of civil war that will range from mild to guerilla warfare to outright massive attacks. Is there any other way to save a nation that has been overrun by terrorists, saboteurs and agents provocateurs?

Fools may listen to those they elect who will lie through their teeth making promises they have no intention of carry out. Sooner or later the clear and present danger posed by these illegals will force citizens into action and it will be bloody.

People justifiably mock the surrendery nature of the French. Historically, the French will take a lot of crap, but when they’ve had enough, they can be pretty ruthless and cutthroat. It would not go well for the muslims and their standard unfocused rage.

The 2024 Tour de France is the 111th edition of the Tour de France. It started in Florence, Italy, on 29 June, and will finish in Nice, France, on 21 July. The race will not finish in Paris for the first time since its inception, owing to preparations for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Makes sense, I suppose. This has been long planned and is no reaction to current political events.

“...the French outnumber the Muslims ...”

For now, unless they do something about it.
The UK is pretty much gone.
