Howls of outrage erupted here over a second suspected sex crime involving a U.S. serviceman that was initially kept under wraps by the central government.
“It is absolutely unforgivable that such an inhumane and despicable crime has again come to light immediately after we learned that a young girl was abducted and assaulted,” Okinawa Governor Denny Tamaki told reporters on June 28.
Okinawa prefectural police said earlier in the day that Jamel Clayton, a 21-year-old U.S. Marine lance corporal, was arrested in May on suspicion of injuring a woman during an attempted rape. The suspect was indicted in June.
Three days earlier, investigative sources said Brennon R.E. Washington, a 25-year-old U.S. airman, was indicted in March on suspicion of abducting and sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 16 in Okinawa Prefecture in December.
Both cases came to light after they were reported by local media outlets. The central government had not disclosed the cases to prefectural authorities.

Race problem or problem race?
Until recently, the Japanese had only "Self-Defense Forces." Everyone in the region has reason to fear China .
Americans do pump money into the Okinawan economy. Servicemembers are not a big part of the economy of Mainland Japan. The bases tend to be adjacent to larger cities. One Marine base is managed by the Japanese. It does bring money into the economy, but they would easily survive economically without the base.
I did 18 month there in 69-70. Kadena is the big air base. Okinawa then wasn’t officially part of Japan .
“Many senior NCO’s take advantage of naive recruits and get away with it .”
That right there is the problem with homosexuals in the military. Recruits can so easily be put in a very bad situation if their homo leader decides to take advantage. The moment it happens the recruit’s career or life is over. If he complains, who are they going to believe, the senior enlisted (or, worse, officer) or that recruit? Before you answer, think about where the military is now.
Honestly, there's no place for women in the military.
But we're being woke therefore we're stupid.
SAY WHAT!!! Marines, yeah, okay, we were a bit crazy. I left the Marine Corps because I lost my taste for crayons, and they found out I had more than three brain cells. BUT USAF types, cussing and drinking. I have to throw out the BS flag on that one. In the Eighties, the Air Force was already woke. I was stationed at a USAF Base in Texas. They did not like other service types. We were a mix of Marines and Army types. Their women preferred partying with us because we partied until closing or we got kicked out. I was kicked out of a few USAF Clubs. In fact, I should have gotten a ribbon for that. While I was TAD, my squadron trashed a USAF restaurant in Kadena. One of their Super Senior Master Baiter Sgts with more strips than brains started stuff with our Gunny. Gunny told him to piss off. The Master baiter threw the first punch, hit Gunny, and it was on. Ten Marines made the place look like a typhoon hit it. We were banned from any base restaurants and clubs, but it was worth it if for nothing else a great sea story.
Doing time in a Japanese prison is no joke. No molly coddling like here. One of our troops did time over there while I was stationed on Okinawa and he wrote us a letter telling us what it was like. And this guy will do hard corps time.
Okinawans have had their panties in a wad ever since WWII and especially since the US established a permanent base there.
“What is it with attacking Japanese school girls?”
Ubiquitous Asian schoolgirl porn. Lots of poorly socialized young men can’t distinguish actual reality from virtual reality.
You can take the boys out of the ghetto...
It looks like the blacks have taken their race war to Japan.
Are the attacks carried out by US servicemen of a particular racial group? Or are they equally likely regardless?
That matches what they do in the civilian world.
This has been an issue since 1945. It will always be an issue.
In Korea in 1981, actual rape was very rare... over 90% of rape cases were a result of nonpayment to prostitutes for services rendered. There 488 rape cases. 23 whites, 11 Hispanic, 1 American Indian... and the rest were black. Again, damn near everyone of those charges were for complaints of no payment to the girls. Most of black guys would refuse pay if they didn’t the amount of time they thought was fair.
Literally screwing a girl out $10 for a short time was an epidemic corrected by informing incoming troops this dishonest behavior would result in a bad conduct discharge and/or jail time in Korea. Be nice boys.
” I did 18 month there in 69-70. Kadena is the big air base. Okinawa then wasn’t officially part of Japan .”
Time to send the troops home . Way overdue .
Black servicemen have always been a huge problem on Okinawa.
Yep.
