Right now, MSNBC and CNN post-debate panels are openly talking about options for pressuring Biden to withdraw, or party officials conspiring to replace him at the convention anyway.
I truly believe that convention drama is usually energizing for a party, not demoralizing. And the selection between Kamala Harris and Gavin Newsom would allow Democrats to feel like the party of the future again, rather than a party litigating a recent past that voters hated.
If Biden’s bad performance really does lead to his departure from the race, Republicans will miss him.

I don’t think her popularity and policies help her in MI but she is known and has firm control on the political machine there and very likely to deliver MI

What worries me is if the dems had a brain they’d pull in Manchin who might be able to win the thing but wont be surprised if they go with someone like Pritzker as “the moderate” choice who isn’t so controversial

All they have to do is tell him that their corruption will likely be exposed — especially if he loses. He doesn’t want Hunter going to prison. Joe might be heading that way too if everything is exposed. Dems have their own special way of blackmailing people. They will do whatever it takes to win.
But they lose no matter what, because of Pennsylvania!

No leftist replacement like Newsom or whoever is going to run as strong as Biden in Pennsylvania (where Biden is already behind by the way). Newsom would lose Penn by 15!!!
And if the dems lose Pennsylvania, that is the election!

Looking at Biden’s face, it was almost impossible to miss the dementia. He would stare blankly, leave his mouth agape, etc. He often stumbled verbally and corrected himself (trillions, no billions), and seemed to lose track, even though he seemed to me to have been prepared ahead of time for every question in order, with a screen or notes to look down at, and an earpiece where he was clearly being coached.
It is hard for anyone who watched to feel that Biden will be sharp tomorrow, much less for the next for years. He was clearly past his sell by date.
