Nearly 50 percent of parents with children under 18 take on debt for Disney trips with in-park food and beverages the biggest drain on the family vacation budget, a survey shows.
Financial website Lending Tree surveyed Americans about how vacationing at Disney World impacts their finances.
It found some 24 percent of all Disney-goers have accrued debt during their trips, along with 45 percent of parents with children under the age of 18.
The average amount of debt for those parents was $1,983, LendingTree said.

I used to work in a bank and we made NO money. However, these girls I worked with went to DL every year and paid with charge cards
They’d spend the rest of the year paying it off.. THAT is idiotic!

I imagine Bidenskyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy will come up with some kind of Disney scam where American workers will be forced to “forgive” the loans people took on their Disney visits.

More Parents Going into Debt to Pay for Disney VacationThere is ignorance and there is stupidity. These parents check off both boxes.

Disney is worth maybe three or four days, once in a lifetime, to anyone.
A few rides are quite good experiences, but the best food deals are with the buffets in each park. Unfortunately, those buffets are expensive.
You need to go in the off-season to have the cheapest tickets.
Don't park in their main parking lots and don't stay in their resorts.
There's another place you can park, for free, with only a bit of hassle.

Knoebels (PA) is free admission, free parking w/ picnic tables & camping so you can bring your own food.
It’s ghetto free, family friendly, and has the best wooden roller coaster in the world.

So these parents willingly take on debt to support wokery?
To: ChicagoConservative27
Let me get this straight…pay for essentials of water, food and your home or go broke but go to Disney?
God help us…we need a great awakening to Christ because people are utterly stupid.

Going into debt to allow trannies to manhandle ithandle your children? Good grief, are they related to the Bidens?
To: ConservativeMind
Somehow I survived childhood without ever going to a Disney resort—and my parents could have easily afforded it.
Parents today are stupid.

Seems like many here on FR would not want to step foot onto Disney property under any circumstances, but it seems that most others outside FR would.

We have a theme park in the Pittsburgh area over a century old that features Mr. Roger's neighborhood. The rides are decent, the food and beverages are only slightly overpriced. There is a water park included for the price of admission. Parking is free. People actually spend almost as much time on the rides as they do waiting in line.
I really don't understand why people will pay triple or more to spend most of their time waiting in line at a Disney Park.
