Ukraine is a gold mine US senator

Allowing a Russian victory in the conflict would deprive America of access to vast mineral resources, Lindsey Graham says

In an interview with 'Face the Nation' on CBS on Sunday, Graham accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of being a "megalomaniac" who is attempting to "re-create the Russian Empire by force of arms," starting with Ukraine. He further claimed that if Moscow wins the current conflict, it will then take over Ukraine's wealth and share it with China. Graham described that prospect as "ridiculous," suggesting it would be better if this "gold mine" were available to the US instead.

"They're sitting on 10 to $12 trillion of critical minerals in Ukraine. They could be the richest country in all of Europe... If we help Ukraine now, they can become the best business partner we ever dreamed of, that $10 to $12 trillion of critical mineral assets could be used by Ukraine and the West, not given to Putin and China," Graham stated.

Most of the mineral wealth found in the Ukraine is in the area that has been already captured on the east side.

I’m sure the politicians are getting their palms greased with plenty of green gold/cash to push for more money and arms to the Ukes.

So, what he is saying is that we spend billions to get trillions in return. Only "we the people" do not get trillions in return, "we the people" get stuck with the billions spent for the 1% to get the lions share of the trillions.

But we knew that it wasn't to save Ukraine, as some people here believe that is the noble cause.

Far too many Ukrainians & Russians die for our greed, not the noble cause the few support the evil believe they are doing.

As I have said many times, none so blind as those who do not see.

Ukraine's wealth?

Vast mineral resources?

Before the Russian invasion, Ukraine had the lowest GDP per capita of the 42 major countries in Europe.

In other words - the lowest productivity on the continent.

Without proof, I will speculate that many European and American politicians support Ukraine because of illicit financial and sexual opportunities.

That's also why they want to take over Russia, to steal Russia's "vast mineral resources."

And Linda doesn't care how many billions of innocent people die getting it.

“Ukraine has been known as a major wheat growing region. I’ve never once heard about the mineral wealth in Ukraine”. You’re darn right, I grow wheat here in central Kansas, Ukraine is in direct competition with me on the global market. Wheat is down 18 cents today and stands at stands at $6.42 per bushel. Lindsey why should my tax dollars subsidize my direct competition?

That's what happens when your country is run by a foreign kleptocracy.

They lock down the mineral wealth of the US, and want more to replace it. The literally want the benefits of precious reserves from over there, and parks over here.

We have madmen running the country. It is time to have a party, build the gallows and start stringing up the crooks.

Maybe they’ll open up vast surface mines and destroy all the rich ag land in Ukraine. That’ll wipe out your competition!

Keep up your good work — it’s unappreciated by most everybody. And that’s one tough job you have.

Before the Russian invasion, Ukraine had the lowest GDP per capita of the 42 major countries in Europe.

With Ukraine's 15 Russian built nuclear reactors providing half the country's energy, operated with minimal regards to safety, to have the lowest GDP in Europe the Ukrainians must have sat on their thumbs all day. Were they too drunk to show up to their factory job?

Early in the invasion some pro-Russia posters would describe how Russia was taking the most valuable parts of Ukraine, I think cranked posted on it a few times until that proud bragging was changed to a different Kremlin messaging.

Russia now controls at least $12.4 trillion worth of Ukraine’s energy, metal and mineral deposits, report says
Updated Thu, Aug 11, 2022
“Based on SecDev’s review of 2,209 deposits, Moscow controls 63% of Ukraine’s coal, 11% of its oil, 20% of its natural gas, 42% of its metals, and 33% of its rare earths, including key minerals like lithium.”

“the Washington Post reported that Russia has seized 41 coal fields, 27 natural gas sites, 14 propane sites, nine oil fields, six iron ore deposits, as well as several sites for titanium, zirconium, strontium, lithium, uranium, and gold.

While Ukraine is known as a top exporter of grains, the report said it also possesses 117 of the 120 most widely used minerals and metals, while also serving as a top source of fossil fuels.”

And, there we have the entire motive behind this war.

It has absolutely nothing to do with national security. It's always been about sucking money and resources out of Ukraine.

At least, Graham is being honest about that, which is more than I can for the ridiculous Zeepers here.

That doesn't make what we've done in Ukraine for the past 10 years anything less than ruthless and despicable.

And, we could still be sucking money and resources out of Ukraine if the powers that be hadn't gotten greedy and let Donbass and Crimea go.

Thanks, Ansel. I found a good summary of mineral deposits in Ukraine at "World Atlas."

What Are The Major Natural Resources Of Ukraine? I had no idea of the rich mineral deposits of so many minerals throughout Ukraine.

These people are greedy and deluded. They are living completely in the past now. This is not WWII Christian and white America. Hell, this isn’t even America anymore. Our divisions and incompetence would prevent any serious war effort from succeeding. Good luck drafting people to fight for the pedophiles on The Potomac.

Ukraine is a rich prize on many levels. Strategic location, population, hard fighting soldiers, minerals, gas pipelines.

We’ve had a lot of peope telling us fairy tales, that Putin wants to save the world from gays, etc.

That stuff is just silly.

Exactly what I was thinking... It’s currently a goldmine for some people, but that “gold” is US taxpayer money.
