I don’t know why caramel is typically paired with chocolate. I think it goes just as well with vanilla. Or, it’s own flavor.

Have you combined caramel with some kind of pie or cheesecake?

Caramel is usually made with vanilla, which is partly why it’s so darned good. I don’t know why it’s paired with chocolate, but I’m not a chocolate fan, so my opinion is somewhat tainted.

I made cheesecakes for Mike’s wedding, and originally one of the toppings was caramel/pecan. It was terrible. The sauce in itself was great, but it did not go well with the cheesecake at all. I switched it up at the last minute and made a big batch of pineapple topping.

I find fresh fruits compliment cheesecake more so than chocolate/carmel but everyone’s taste is different - no right or wrong

Cotton the caramel burned caramel cake is absolutely beautiful. Can I have two pieces?

A trend I’m seeing on Cooking sites is incorporating browned or burned butter into recipes I frankly don’t see the appeal of that. Not sure if that’s part of this recipe

Watering took a long time today. But I went over two or three times the same pots to make sure they were deep soaks

the only thing I learned this year is lavender does not require as much water as most other plants

I’ve always just treated them all equally. But I also know tomatoes don’t like wet feet

they prefer dry sunny weather so I water them a little less than other things

I once got the “brilliant” idea of tossing a handful of Werther’s Caramels into my apple pie filling. I thought it would be delicious to be enjoying a piece of pie then getting a lovely taste of a Werther’s candy. Well, when the pie was done and I tasted it and couldn’t tell the difference. Then it dawned on me that the ingredients in Werther’s were basically the same as what I put in my apple pie innards, so they just melted and blended in.

Yes, I find the same thing. Something with a bit of zing or tart is best with cheesecake. Pineapple is very good, as is rhubarb. Many people are surprised with rhubarb - it’s very good with cheesecake and so easy to make.

45 indicated the VP would be at debate

He didn’t say he’d call he or she out

My thoughts are maybe to have 8-10 there who are in contention.

Keeps we plebes guessing a bit more

Let’s Trust Pres Trump on this. If he picks Vivek, cottonball or anyone else, we know much thought has gone into the selection

Let’s not get at each other’s throats over a possibility.. and when the selection is firmly announced let’s support the choice. Heaven knows we have too many never Trumper s over big reasons or minutiae

A very well received foodie event I’ve hostessed at (primarily bridge) parties but also various social get togethers.

Every couple brings an hor dors, finger food, appetizer. Bring a copy of the recipe (used to ask them to bring multiple copies- now a cell phone pix works) We share this. I provide soft drinks, beer, wine, mixed drinks. In the south sweet tea a must! Emphasis on word SWEET

Bridge we play two sets. 3 tables 12 people. Maybe another engaging game or if outdoors volleyball, croquet, badminton for about an hour

Then ice cream time. DIY SUNDAE BAR

I did buffet with sliced pound cake, sliced bananas, 2 or three ice creams, 3 sizes ice cream scoops IN HOT WATER ,sauce selection: hot fudge, hot carmel, hot maple syrup with pecans, homemade pineapple topping. Bowls of nuts, sprinkles, dried fruit. Ready whip.

THE WARMED toppings and scoop container are the small 2-4 cup sized crocks

People can go as big or small as they like

This is a party everyone enjoys and talks about for some time.

Cotton - might be fun for your group.
