Lol so true.
A very well received foodie event I’ve hostessed at (primarily bridge) parties but also various social get togethers.
Every couple brings an hor dors, finger food, appetizer. Bring a copy of the recipe (used to ask them to bring multiple copies- now a cell phone pix works) We share this. I provide soft drinks, beer, wine, mixed drinks. In the south sweet tea a must! Emphasis on word SWEET
Bridge we play two sets. 3 tables 12 people. Maybe another engaging game or if outdoors volleyball, croquet, badminton for about an hour
Then ice cream time. DIY SUNDAE BAR
I did buffet with sliced pound cake, sliced bananas, 2 or three ice creams, 3 sizes ice cream scoops IN HOT WATER ,sauce selection: hot fudge, hot carmel, hot maple syrup with pecans, homemade pineapple topping. Bowls of nuts, sprinkles, dried fruit. Ready whip.
THE WARMED toppings and scoop container are the small 2-4 cup sized crocks
People can go as big or small as they like
This is a party everyone enjoys and talks about for some time.
Cotton - might be fun for your group.
