Between 1957 and 1976, there was a regular bus service between London and Calcutta, India. The 32,000km, 50 day, 2-way bus route is the longest in the world.
The bus had sleeping bunks and even a kitchen! For just £145, you get to travel with food & accomodation. The bus would stop at attractions and for shopping in Vienna, Istanbul & Iran
The bus ride took passengers from England to Belgium, West Germany, Austria, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Northern India.
What an inspiring story! Thanks for posting!
Glad you had a handle on it and all is well
Yukky whatever about that VERY WRONG computer
One outfit ?
When my van was stolen I had only a pair of short/tank top/flip flops to my name
I commiserate . Big time
Not fun
Sounds like a plan!
Rusty I’m about to try to go to sleep. But my dear friend I certainly hope everything goes well for you with your healing with your transition to Wisconsin and that will all go well with your family.
It’s interesting how you may love your family and they may love you but living together is difficult. I hope and pray that things fall Wisconsin go wonderfully for you
Is there more to this story? Did she see the ocean? What happened to the dog and the horse? Did she outlive her prognosis?
Thanks for sharing this story!!
Your questions were also my questions. I’m going to try to research maybe in the next couple days but the next couple days —are extremely covered up. Chuckle chuckle chuckle
“a circular cutting disc for my deli slicer”
I have to ask - why did that go to Alabama?
OK, sounds good - when?
12 and 9, very entertaining, argumentative at times. The 9 year old pretends to be an airline stewardess, going through the whole routine, even to the kicking off parents of the disruptive kids on the plane.
Not fun at all.
I thought I might find a use to thinly slice meat for sandwiches over in Papua. So, long, long ago I took a deli slicer over. But, not once, have we used it. I got it in my brain to bring the thing home.
But, it put my suitcase over the 23 kilo limit. Hubby thought, slip it into your carry-on! Well, we had a flash of intelligence and realized the cutting disc would have been discarded and we took it apart shipping the heavy motor in my carry-on and the sharp cutting disc in the checked luggage.
Very logical
For the record, one time I packed a rotary lawn mower into my luggage.
Another time, I brought an upright tuba.
.
Soooo good to see you postin’. Hope things are looking up and continue to get better!
