Many Americans do not plan to enjoy a summer vacation in President Joe Biden’s America, a Fox News poll found in May, underscoring the economy as the number one 2024 issue for voters.
The Fox News poll found:
Of the 55 percent who are not taking a summer vacation, 73 percent do not have enough money to do so. Seventy-two percent said higher prices impact their summer plans. Fifteen percent do not have time and must remain focused on the daily grind. The last time a pollster asked Americans this question, in 2010, of those who were not going on vacation, only 51 percent cited a lack of cash, while 20 percent blamed a lack of time, Fox

So what do students do with the whole summer off? Points to schools going on the trimester system. I’ll say it again. At least they’ll have something to do. Those Big Mac meals won’t help them get laid if they can’t afford them.
We have several weddings this summer to attend, all family. We will extend our visit a few days for one of them, and that’s all the vacay we will get to have.
Thanks, Joe!
Travel where? To all the cities that are having crime waves like never before?
Go to a foreign country thinking you will save money? You better stay home and save your life.
And their credit cards are maxed out.
“ So what do students do with the whole summer off?”
…sponge off their parents until they’re 35 or so.
Go to a national park and look at all of the ferigners. Why park access is not restricted on them is beyond me. Go look at your own country’s waterfalls.
And when you get there, how do you know that the hotel you want to stay at has not been used as a haven for illegals? That’s not a feature I see listed in the rating services.

I’m confused!
I kind of got icked out on hotels after seen some “blue light” videos of how disgusting they are. Then during COVID they doubled down on the ick factor by housing the homeless and now illegals in hotels.
So unless I’m sleeping in my car or the house of a friend or family - no thanks.
If the parents allow this, it’s on them.
I have not taken a “vacation” in years...I am content to just stay home.
Joe was right....people had money for groceries.
The hedonic adjustment to the price increases means that your lack of a vacay is offset by the pleasure you get from staying home.
Somebody has to pay for those lost doors and wheels.
Good thing my home is like a vacation spot, of sorts. I like to say that we live in a very nice tent.
Costs more in gasoline to cut the grass than to get to the beach in the good old days. And when you got there you felt safe.
We bought an overland camping rooftop tent. It’s being built in September and we’re driving from Maryland to Washington to get it. The main cost will be gas. I have 200,000 hotel points. We’ll camp on the way home.
We never have and never will do expensive vacations
Do you trust their statistics?
