NEW YORK โ Former President Donald Trump has broken political norms by visiting one of the most deep-blue areas in New York City, a town not necessarily known for its kindness to Republicans.
Trump rallied a crowd of what his campaign estimated to be 25,000 supporters at Crotona Park in the Bronx on Thursday, far more than the initial 3,500 it said were expected to attend. Those numbers appeared to also include those lined up outside the event โ who waited hours for a shot at getting inside even after the event began.
"I'm here tonight to declare we are going to turn New York City around, and we are going to turn it around very, very quickly," Trump said after taking the stage, vowing to bring back safety and better schools to the city. "We are going to make New York bigger, better and greater than ever before."
Trump praised the history of New York, but lamented that it was "now a city in decline."
"I've never seen it quite like this," he said, noting the violent crime taking place on subways and homeless encampments across the city.
Trump went on to rail against President Biden, saying he wasn't "getting the job done" for the people of the Bronx, and that he was "grossly incompetent."
"If a New Yorker can't save this city, no one can," Trump declared to loud cheers. "Who said we're not going to win New York?"

Yes, Trump was very convincing in his “I can fix it and get it done when others can’t. “
I think he found a new theme for his campaign.
Watch AOC come out and say: "Big deal. Crowds give me Bronx cheers all the time."
New York will set aside money to help local news outlets hire and retain employees
$90 mil in "tax credits"...
Much of the speech was a recounting of the Trump contribution to New York.
He should be running as a favorite son
I watched closely for black participants. There were uncountable I phones raised up taking videos. Bare arms were plainly visible. Black arms were present but not so many.
The crowd shown with raised arms was not very black.
Fox interviewed quite a few black women who were very strongly antiBiden/proTrump. He definitely has strong and vocal black support.
Trump convincedly demonstrated that he is in fact a New Yorker. He should be a favorite son
They donโt have to. It was in the South Bronx. We know who was there.
It was 6,000 according to Trump’s pal Sid Rosenberg
IIRC it was rsbnetwork.com. hope it works and the vid is still available.
From yesterdays Trump Rally. MAGA!
His best speach especially his personal stories.
GEEEEEEEEE—ONLY 8 TIMES the number of people the permit was issued for.
NYPD says it was 3500 and I have yet to see any pics that show otherwise.
Link worked...thank you.
3,500 in the venue and 2,000 outside
Whew! Good.
His speech was from the heart. He backed up to all the memories and stories he had of his great addition to the NYC area and all the good he has done.
Before he ran for president, he was admired by nearly everyone. Had a great business and success was due to his hard work.
Disgusting that he has to put up with the garbage they are slewing at him.
Even though the 4 cases are crumbling, the left will NOT relent in trying to take him down. A stronger man I’ve not seen.
Praying for DJT and his family.
I think, too, that as a result of so many projects that he brought to NYC, thousands of people have decent paying jobs. Maybe not people in the Bronx itself, but they have to be benefiting tangentially within that economy.
Do they even consider that, give him credit, or thank him?
Do they even consider that, give him credit, or thank him?
Well there are many New Yawkers who love DJT and now that the Migration Crime is hitting NYC horribly, perhaps, just perhaps some of those knuckleheads that vote for mayors like Adams and Governors like Hacky Hochul will wake up.
I see he’s planning a rally at Madison Square Gardens. Woo Hoo. Go get em PDJT.
