Every Monday I meet with a group of female friends in a London restaurant. We sit at a table near the window and discuss our lives.
We have many things in common. We are all in our mid-50s and highly educated career women. But there is a vacuum in our lives. We are all single and childless.
I increasingly feel, as do many of my intimates, that feminism has failed our generation. I grew up with its beliefs. No, strike that. I was force-fed them.
By the age of 13, Christmas presents from my Women's Lib aunt were books by Gloria Steinem and Simone de Beauvoir, considered the mother of modern feminism. (My aunt was one of those militants who had famously disrupted the 1970 Miss World contest).
My peers and I watched Mary Poppins, idolising the determinedly single nanny (never noticing the occasional sadness behind her eyes), and sympathising with suffragette Mrs Banks, while wondering why she didn't leave her dullard of a husband.

Why doesn’t she get a cat?
The article doesn’t mention that the author had a multi year affair with Boris Johnson.
She wrote her bed, no question.
The modern woman is taught to value attention from powerful men, not their true inner desire for family.
Feminism is the denial of human nature. All those who practice it will not be in conformity with human nature. No one can be happy when acting contrary to human nature.
That sounds like the result of dumbass thinking.
"I really DGAF" would be my natural response in most conversations.
Crimea River. #WINNING. :-O
Why does her name make me think of mosquito candles?
To be clear, feminists didn’t fail women. The feminists got what they wanted, which was more women as lonely as they.
Harrison Butker, you’re wanted on the phone...
She’s a freaking socialite, isn’t she? She’s selfish to her core. I don’t think she ever wanted to be married to anyone. It would mean the focus wasn’t on her for half a second, and that would just be too long for her to endure.
And this is why speeches by folks like Harrison Butker are so necessary
And as we saw the Harrison Butker graduation speech, liberals will have a meltdown, if anyone would suggest that the women students will find gratification in their futures as wives and mothers. Any suggestion that women will be wives and mothers someday certainly triggers an extreme reaction doesn’t it?
We were supposed to tell young girls they can grow up to be astronauts and all of that, but no discussion is permitted about marriage and family in their futures.
...&, throughout all my rebellious years, not ONCE did I question...ANYTHING....
Box wine, bon-bons & kitties galore w/ no sh!ts given here.
There is a lot of money to be made opening up Cat Farms...
You traded in God’s land for mankind for a far inferior woman-created plan to usurp God’s plan, and it failed miserably. We could have told you, and infsct tried to tell you that it would fail, but you didn’t want to listen
Choice have consequences-
“Feminism has failed me and my generation, writes PETRONELLA WYATT..”
No, Citronella, YOU failed.
