Donald Trump suffered a blow in the Pennsylvania primary on Tuesday, as tens of thousands of Republicans refused to vote for him despite being the presumptive GOP nominee...Nikki Haley, who ended her campaign for the White House after Super Tuesday in March, still received 16.5 percent of the vote, equating to more than 155,000 ballots.

Historically, in presidential elections, 10% of GOP voters vote for the Dem and about 10% of Dem voters vote for the GOP guy. 3/4 of these Haley people will “return home” in the general and a handful of others will vote Biden — adding up to the 10% historical norm.
And the reverse will happen among the Dems.
No change in this. Except for one huge thing.
Dems and GOP voters have disappeared. 46% are not independent and 27% fringe voters are still GOP or Dem. Independents care about Drain the Swamp and need not care about anything else.
Trump continued his dominance in the GOP primary with a resounding victory in Pennsylvania, one of the states which could ultimately decide who wins the 2024 election. While Trump still won more than 83 percent of the vote, Haley, seen as a more moderate Republican candidate who was also to sweep up the so-called "Never Trump" brigade, appears to still be causing problems for the former president's campaign despite no longer officially being in the race.
The headline is very misleading.
errr 46% are NOW independent.
Billionaire Paul Singer is behind an effort to take out or hamstring P. Trump, anyway he can, to include using backstabbing Republicans in Congress, and orcs in the voting booth.
For that matter, they may not even be conscious...period.
My comment wasn’t referencing possible cheating,it was about vote totals—meaning that some may have voted for Nikki in early voting before she dropped out.
Closed primary. However they allow same day registration in certain cases (like nearly any case).
I seriously doubt it were a bunch of republicans voting for Nikkin in Penn.
Take a look at this and tell me what is fishy? I can’t post a screen shot.......

Cheating shown by dark blue cancer.
Unlike many people at Free Republic, I think it is imperative to know what your political opponents are doing - EVERY day.

Biden “won” by %.5. They have to make Nikki look like an unstoppable juggernaut.

They even put her name above (in the linked graphic) Trump but on the Biden side (who lost 70k votes) he is on top. Nothing to see here....
Mine was, because there is voter fraud with absentee ballots in every election.
Bogus. #1, Trump exceeded his 2020 vote if I recall. #2, Trump didn’t campaign at all. #3 EARLY claims Nick Knack did well are bogus when the final ED votes came in. She got 15%.
Baris was going over this vote on his show. Typical liars.
I work the polls in PA. It is a closed primary. We had a low turnout yesterday. There were virtually no competitive races for either party.
The Haley vote is significant and worrisome. Don’t kid yourself. In the primary in 2020 Trump was unopposed and got about 1,053,000 votes. This year, in the first election, where we have a chance to vote for Trump since he was robbed, he’s going to get around 835,000. Trump lost PA by about 80,000 votes in 2020. Furthermore, it still appears as if Republicans refuse to vote by mail. The mail in numbers look as blue as ever.
I don’t think the Haley voters come home. They’ll probably vote for Kennedy, or worse yet Biden. If Haley were on the ticket? You might get some of them.
I consider my precinct ‘Trump country’. Yesterday confirms what I’ve feared for awhile: there’s no enthusiasm for Trump. If there are any Trump signs at all up, they are tattered and faded 2020 versions which have been there for years. Virtually no new signs. One guy who does have the 2024 editions, remarked his wife (a Republican) is thinking of voting for Kennedy. She did not vote yesterday.
Trump might still win. We have to hope the enthusiasm for Biden in blue areas is even worse then the Trump enthusiasm. It’s possible, although I note Biden had around 975,000 votes yesterday; significantly more than Trump’s 835,000. Independents are not allowed to vote in PA primaries. They will help us close the gap, as they will skew towards Trump.
If I were Trump, I’d work on the minorities in blue areas, rather than rich, white Haley voters. I don’t expect a black guy from West Philly to vote Trump, but he might vote Cornell West, or stay home. Too many of these Haley people are unattainable, no matter what. They wear their Trump hatred on their sleeves as a badge of honor.
All in all, a discouraging result here in PA.
No mention of how many refused to vote for Biden without any opposition.
Thanks for the detailed report. Eyes on the ground in the polling spots, based on your experience, is very valuable.
I agree that the upper class Republicans, often referred to as the country club Republicans, don’t like Trump. In my opinion mainly for his crude behavior, and he may have permanently lost not only their votes, but their donations.
He’s tried to replace them with former Democrats, be they gay, union members, or minorities, but a lot of those voters are in big cities, and states that will end up blue, anyway.
His VP choice will be critical. He may not have even decided yet, because everything is so volatile, but make no mistake, whoever he choses will be based on who can bring him the most votes. And it looks like there’s potentially 150K Haley voters right there in PA alone.
This is as embarrassing as it was when, at the 1990 Superbowl, San Fran was crushed having only garnering 55 points against the Denver Broncos’ impressive 10.
No. But it doesn’t stop Dems from changing parties for the primary and switching back before the general. Whay was Haley still on the ballot after she pulled out months ago is my question.
See, that was the reason, and it was quite easy for you to state your reason, wasn't it? 🙂👍
