Versace sample sale in NYC shut down by cops after fights break out among more than 1,000 shoppers: ‘They’re going crazy’

Cops had to shut down a Versace sample sale in Chelsea on Wednesday after more than 1,000 deal-savvy shoppers flocked to the store, with fights breaking out before shoppers could even get their hands on the discounted designer labels.

Videos shared on social media captured the chaotic scene unfolding just after 9 a.m. at 125 W. 18th St. as thousands of shoppers crowded the sidewalks — some having waited in line for hours — only for a fight to cause the sale to be shut down by police just before noon, the NYPD told The Post.

Within hours, the store’s security had to enlist the NYPD’s help to control the crowd.

The event was temporarily shut down and later reopened. No arrests were made, police said.

Videos of the massive crowd and images of shoppers looking to purchase pieces by the famed designer being escorted away by police flooded social media early Wednesday.

*** Many New Yorkers took to X to express their disbelief over the silly skirmish.

“Some people will sacrifice necessities, just to have the ‘right’ labels on. Smh,” one person wrote.

“The NYC Versace sample sale ending in 35 minutes bc y’all don’t know how to act is wild,” another chimed in.

“Rushing the door for a Versace sample sale is egregious behavior lmao,” another person said. ***

It happened to Louie Vitton. Which I couldn’t stand before it happened. It happened to Mercedes.

It’s well-known among marketing pros that blacks are the race least likely to buy a generic brand, preferring name brands regardless of cost. This is true for every sort of consumer product, from high-end clothes and jewelry to champagne and laundry detergent.

What may have started as a “sale” probably in fact was a mass looting

Versace is just to PC to say so.

When did your family come to the USA? Mind came as best that
I know in the mid/late 1800s. Came in and finally settled in
the SW part of Louisiana. English/Irish as best as I know.

Burberry, Rolls Royce, Hilfiger. They become ghetto chic and then left for dead. Stupid companies go for the cash grab and ruin their brand.

They love high quality things that they can’t spell. And they enjoy naming their offspring after expensive goods.

Warped priorities. Getting a piece of clothing is more important than interacting civilly with other people.

But we kinda knew that already.

Versace must be rolling in his grave

From the interwebs:

Versace is owned by Capri Holdings, which acquired it for Euro 1.83 billion (over $2 billion) in 2018. Versace is part of the group, which also owns Jimmy Choo and Michael Kors. Versace generated over a billion dollars in revenue in 2022. Capri Holdings is primarily owned by John D. Idol, chairman and CEO of Capri Holdings (formerly Michael Kors Holdings) and CEO of Michael Kors. Top institutional investors comprise FMR (Fidelity) with 14.95% ownership, The Vanguard Group (9.47%), BlackRock with 8.9% ownership, BlackRock with 8.9% ownership, and Senvest Management with 5.1% of ownership.

So Versace may be rolling, but these Wall Street hedge funds and private-equity groups are overjoyed NY blacks are rioting to get their hands on their China-produced "luxury" goods.

I’m from outside Philly. The sheer stupidity of blacks is astounding.

I went to public school where city blacks were bused in.
They were maybe 20% of the students, but it seemed like 60%.
Some of my Freshman homeroom alumni are a murdered, a kidnapping rapist, and multiple felons for dealing and assault.

There were plenty of wiggers, but none committed felonies.
They eventually realized “acting black” isn’t cool.

Actually all ethnic groups and races pile on the frenzy for sales such as Black Friday:

Note “Cabbage Patch Riots” was one.
