Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott (D) has accused his critics of racism after many labeled him the “DEI mayor” following the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge earlier this week.
The collapse occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning after a cargo ship lost power and collided into the bridge. Six people were presumed dead after the bridge fell.
Soon after the collapse, social media users — including Utah state Rep. Phil Lyman (R) and Florida congressional candidate Anthony Sabatini (R) — attributed the tragedy to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).
Scott on Wednesday told MSNBC’s Joy Reid that these attacks on his identity are rooted in racism.
“I know, and we know, and you know very well that Black men, and young Black men in particular, have been the bogeyman for those who are racist and think that only straight, wealthy White men should have a say in anything,” the Baltimore mayor said.

I never heard of this clown Baltimore Mayor. He is loving being in the news and on TeeVee. Of course, he had nothing to do with this bridge disaster.

Of course they don’t have the courage to use the “n” word - they don’t want their careers and personal lives utterly destroyed and don’t need death threats called into their homes, their businesses boycotted and picketed, their reputations - which they’ll never get back - ruined.
Back in the day, we called them "affirmative action employees". It was an insult, and they didn't like it.
He’s thrilled that beaucoup fed money is coming into his city - and how much of it he can disappear into his own pockets - and give his family members and cronies $200,000 consultation jobs.
Go ahead and accuse him of misusing federal funds, he’ll call you a racist and claim you are trying to “keep a black man down.”
I doubt that bridge will be rebuilt - and if it is, it will be 20+ years and billions upon billions of wasted dollars.

It is a given with the mayor that he is a DEI/Affirmative Action hire, given his track record as a Democrat in a Democrat-run Hell Hole.
But for me, I look at everything from the Port Authority, to the pilots, to the marine inspectors, right down to the mechanics actually performing maintenance.
The con never stops.

Somewhat off-topic, if I can be candid, there are a lot of low-information “conservatives” out there chanting DEI every time something goes kaboom.
The biggest example was Silicon Valley Bank. There was some midtier risk manager who was flying her diversity flag on LinkedIn. The low information types saw that, and blamed her for the collapse. They even called her SVB’s chief risk officer, despite the fact that she was in the UK, AND that SVB lacked a CRO for months.
The mob kept chanting “DEI” and looked like idiots. And made us look like we can’t do basic research.
There haven’t even been funerals for the construction workers killed in the bridge collapse, and dopes on our side are acting like knee-jerk leftists after a shooting.
Diversity in the Christian sense, where we are all equal before God and you should treat your brother with kindness and respect, is wonderful. I’ve worked with people from all over the world: there are bright blacks, whites, and folks from Asia and idiots in those camps as well. Groupthink is a bad thing.
If you really want to beat up DEI, Bud Light is THE case study. This bridge collapse? It’s premature to blame DEI at best, and frankly the overlap with the mob on the SVB diversity bandwagon has zero credibility.
Scott is the wrong man to be Mayor, he doesn’t have the cajones to manage cleaning up the harbor. There should be a dozen tugs with grappling hooks clearing that structural steel out of the harbor right now but this clown is playing politics.
It is extremely bad tactically. Many other words and acronyns convey the same obvious truth.
As if you really need to point out the obvious anymore these days, as large as it looms, as daily or hourly its occurrence in the news.
What’s the “N” word got to do??
Color of this guy’s skin is the last of my concerns. There are many black men/women, who are smart, and are waaaay more qualified than this DEI stooge. And, the majority of them are likely conservative and Republican.
Who needs a word, when a picture is worth a thousand words....
One needn’t use name calling.
Just point directly at behavior.
