Joseph I. Lieberman, the doggedly independent four-term U.S. senator from Connecticut who was the Democratic nominee for vice president in 2000, becoming the first Jewish candidate on the national ticket of a major party, died March 27 in New York City. He was 82.
The cause was complications from a fall, his family said in a statement.

R.I.P., Senator Lieberman. You were one of the few truly decent Congressmen.
P.S.: once you hit 65 nothing good happens with a fall.
I would have sworn he had died already. RIP, Mr. Lieberman.
Those were the days.
Sad truth is many seniors suffer falls from grandkid toys just left around on the floor.
Doubt it will be a Mass.
This just happened, a few weeks ago ...

Former Sen. Joe Lieberman on Sunday blasted Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer for calling for an election to replace Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, denouncing the New York Democrat's remarks as “outrageous.”
“I thought the statement he made this week … was a mistake. I can't ever remember anything like it,” Lieberman told host John Catsimatidis on the “Cats Roundtable” on WABC 770 AM.
Yup.
It’s not nice to slam Five Ways Schumer.
First thing I thought of, too.
Democrats love their funerals.
And pets!
He was old school democrat who you didn’t despise and could actually have a congenial beer or two with. RIP. Of course Biden is old school too but has always been a prick and will die that way.
I have the t shirt. Rest in Peace, Joe.
One of the few Democrats the National Review ever supported, albeit to dethrone Lowell Weiker as Connecticut Senator.
He was a decent man. R.I.P.
FR was started to take on Bill and Hillary Clinton.
Tried over and over again to blame video games for all the violence in the country. Good bye jerk.
The Democrats were crazy on the environment so I'll vote for Dubya again today. The last Democrat who was sort of "moderate" was Bill Clinton. He was corrupt. But he didn't try to do anything too radical.
Probably the last moderate and rational voice of the Democrat party is now gone.
He seemed like a decent guy. God rest his soul.
