Kate, Princess of Wales, has revealed she has been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing preventative chemotherapy. In a personal message, the 42-year-old said planned abdominal surgery in January was successful and it was initially thought her condition was non-cancerous. But tests after the operation found cancer had been present, she said, adding: "This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family."

Good one!
For you history buffs: really fascinating:

Short article on the historical origins of chemotherapy!
Well, I don’t think Catherine is in danger of developing androgenic alopecia...:-)
You’d rather they and Australia were not?
Yes. A far as she knows.
But you’re still lovable wardaddy!!
My goodness! Such suffering. I’m sorry about your sister
Most older people stay with bad doctors because they don’t want to be messed with. My husband is like that. I don’t like doctors that want to push meds on me. I prefer to go if I’m sick and I’m rarely sick. My mom went to an old quack doctor for years because he kept her in pain meds.
I want a doctor to listen to my heart and lungs and treat me if I’m sick. If they find something I will get more opinions.
Chemo has always struck me as prolonging death, not prolonging life. (Source: Family history of cancer on both sides)
Nonetheless, hoping for the best possible outcome for the Princess of Wales. She’s always seemed to be pretty decent, and genuinely loves her family.
>>Thankfully mine was clear.
Really good to hear that.
>>She’s more down to Earth than to worry about her hair right now.
A while ago she donated 7” of her hair anonymously for wigs for children with cancer. If she starts losing hair, good bet is that she’ll find a way to make use of it.
If they find a cancer cure it will put a big dent in Pfizer’s bottom line.
Rather that their Deep States and ours not be allied...?
Gee, let me think about that...
Snort.
But that’s not what you meant, is it.
And denial ain’t just a river in Egypt.
Congratulations to your son, mass55th. That’s great to hear.
It is important to have hope. I was getting ready for hospice because all the doctors thought I had cancer. I was giving away my stuff. Clearing my house before surgery.
My blood markers looked terrible. It was the inhibin test result that had me getting ready for death.
I stayed overnight in the hospital. No one told me what had happened so still thought I was dying until the next day right before I was released. They were releasing me before the Doctor had come to see me. I was enraged and said I am not going anywhere until someone tells me what is going on.
Such a traumatic drama .
The point to this story is wait for the biopsy results and ask for it to be done from two different pathology companies.
Meanwhile, isn’t this curious...
Scobie posted that an hour before KP’s cancer announcement.
Glad you’re here, too. You made tough choices for the long haul and they turned out to be the right choices. Well done!
One learns a lot with hospital adventures. I have a video someone took from decades ago of me after abdominal surgery saying passionately, “Get me out of here!”
A friend carries a note in her purse saying which hospital to NEVER take her to in an ambulance.
There are/have been good people in the medical field. Just fewer and fewer, it seems, with the years. The covid debacle finished my trust in the medical profession.
So very glad you survived it all and hope you replenished your “stuff” supply better than ever.
Plastic Face Scobie is slime. (And the slime in Montecito is probably popping the champagne today.)
Agreed. Their one line announcement was particularly cold. But guess how fast they’re going to find a way to be in this news as caring family?
The Royals would be insane to let these two anywhere near them or to comment on them at all.
The Royals are not insane.
