Friday, during an appearance on Fox News Channel’s “Jesse Watters Primetime,” former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) said she was “open” to serving as a vice-presidential nominee.

“Tulsi, you’re being considered for a VP slot,” host Jesse Watters asked. “Is that something you’re open to?”

“I would be open to that,” Gabbard replied. “My mission is to serve our country. I want to be in a position to solve problems, Jesse, and we’ve got a lot of them to solve.”

Trump needs to seriously change the dynamic, and there isn’t another Republican (mayor, governor, congressman) who will do anything to attract or sway non-Republican voters.

It’s going to be important to capture every possible vote to overcome the cheating. That means attracting independents and Dem-lites.

We also know there are Republicans who won’t vote for Trump, and who also work to ensure he isn’t elected. So if people want “party purity”, then be prepared to lose.

I don’t get it either. I think some conservatives desperately want to see a former leftist doing a 180 and becoming MAGA, that they sacrifice their critical thinking to wishful thinking. We’ve seen similar phenomena in the past, for example, the rush to promote Colin Powell as the savior of the GOP, when he had never been a Republican and never aligned with conservative policies. But he was black and conservatives fantasized about him leading black voters to conservatism. It was a hope based soley on appearances and superficialities.

Ironically enough, we’re now starting to see the left lose its monopoly on the black vote and it’s not happening because of pandering to identity politics but because Trump and the MAGA agenda are resonating with blacks, more and more.

Someone does certainly needs to get their head out of their butt, so may I suggest you get a crowbar and get to it.

A VP pick is not going to dramatically shift Trump’s base, barring the selection of Beezlebub, a serial pedophile, etc. But what a VP pick may do would be to further attract non-Republican voters.

The other other opportunity is a disruption to the unitary/deep state. Which is not going to happen without a clear mandate from voters. A simple majority win means more gridlock and nothing getting done. A clear message needs to be sent that a change is here. Your probably the same type that believes a RINO is better than a Democrat, which is exactly why we are in our current state.

Very true. Trump is doing as well as he is because he’s stayed true to his message. If he wants to add to his lead he just needs to continue doing more of the same, not compromising his positions to appeal more to the left, who will never vote for him anyway, regardless of who he picks for VP. That’s what Establishment Republicans have tried to do for years, with disastrous results.
