It was extremely hard to get the diagnosis.
In retrospect, I began showing definitive symptoms sometime between 2000 - 2005. But, the symptoms fit other diseases as well. The most frustrating thing was that tests were coming back negative and the doctors gave up looking. They would treat an immediate crisis and not investigate, probably because they had no clue, what would cause that crisis.
I kept becoming more and more anemic and therefore tired. Finally in 2018 things came to a head. I made a hasty trip to my hometown and a new doctor, found by my pastor, recognized my symptoms immediately. He referred me to a hematology-oncologist. I began treatment about two weeks after returning home. One month later, July 11, the doc said he couldn’t see any more cancer in my blood. Since then, I trek back to the states at least once a year to monitor the situation.

That was a tough one, wasn’t it? Anywhere from raw to burnt, and still good!
