DeSantis predicts Trump won't accept results in Iowa or New Hampshire if he loses

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said he expects that if former president Donald Trump, the front-runner for the GOP nomination, were to lose the first Republican voting contests, in Iowa and New Hampshire, he won't accept the results.

"He will say it's stolen no matter what. He will try to delegitimize the results. He did that against Ted Cruz in 2016," DeSantis said, referring to Cruz's victory in the Iowa caucuses.

"I don't think there's been a single time he's ever been in competition for something, where he didn't get it, where he has accepted [it]," DeSantis added. "I think that that's to be expected, but I don't think people are gonna buy it."

To reflect on the Trump red wave of 2022? Wow, that was so predicted and so unfulfilled. Don’t be surprised if once we get to actual voting, we see the same thing occur.

I’m locked in for President Trump, but liked DeSantis and hoped he would have a place on a National level at some point. But this crap.... makes me think a lot less of DeSantis. A lot less.

At this point, if the rnc picks the lying, manipulative, corrupt, desantis as the presidential candidate....

I’ll write Trump in on the ballot, and if I can’t, I may not bother voting at all, because I don’t want the GOPe rino uniparty chosing who the candidate will be.

SO two things: it looks alost impossible to lose so ... either DeSantis is jus being a crybaby or he’s telegraphing some inside info about a plan for some shenanigans. It would have been unthinkable a year ago for me to imagine this, but that was before he more or less acknowledged that his primary hope for election was Trump getting jailed on bogus charges, basically rooting for it. Now I just see him a a political hack and part of the ‘the ends justify the means’ uniparty after all.

The villianous wrestler Roman Reigns always steps into the ring with the stern command, “Acknowledge me!!”

DeSantis appears in his shoe lifts and a whine, “Acknowledge me.”

Truth is, with 95% of the media, and a large percentage of people working in government which include the 6 ways till Sunday intelligence agencies, and big pharma and the military industrial complex allied against him, I wouldn’t be surprised if they find someway to cheat him again...

Have Govs. Reynolds and Sununu “fixed” the primary for DeSantis?

“DeSantis should have run as the “Plan B”, in the case Trump couldn’t run in 24, for whatever reason.“

That IS what he’s doing. He and his handlers, his donors, were betting Trump would be in jail by now. And not running. It’s too late for him to see that’s not going to happen, now out, join the Trump team then run in 2028. The only people in politics at all in 2028 are going to be Trump loyalists. The only people in politics at all

I wonder if DeSantis managed to get his donors to cover his student loans at least.

Sadly, you’re right. They’ve gotten away with cheating for many years with impunity. 2024 will be no different, and anybody who thinks otherwise is deluding themselves. If I’m alive in November 2024 to vote for Trump for a third time, it’s the last election I will be voting in. The system is corrupt beyond repair, and Republicans have been AWOL on fixing it since Al Gore openly tried to overturn the election in Florida in 2000.

Sorry, hit post before I was finished.

While I really like almost everything DeSantis has done as Governor of Florida his campaign for the Republican nomination has to be ranked up there as one of the most boneheaded political moves in modern American history.

It’s up there with putting Dukakis in a tank or Kerry in a bunny suit. He’s destroyed any good will he had with rank and file Republican primary voters. He’s going to get his ass handed to him in Iowa and New Hampshire and he knows it.

He could have had any job, short of VP, in a second Trump administration but he threw it all away on this fools errand. He would have been a shoo in for the nomination in 28. Now that will never happen.

His decisions cast serious doubt on both his judgement and his loyalty. Trump endorsed him for Governor and this is how he repays that. It’s frigging disgraceful.

Well, it’s good he showed his true colors early, I guess. He’s done in national Republican politics. I doubt he could even win a Florida Senate seat after this. No one would trust him, and for good reason.

Ron appears to be not just delusional, but now is descending into outright lunacy.

Get a grip on yourself, Ron, you’ve probably gone too far,but be contrite and return to Florida and see if you’ve remembered how to be a good governor. Perhaps your folly will be forgiven as well as those millions of dollars you’ve squandered for absolutely nothing.

“ Don’t be surprised if once we get to actual voting, we see the same thing occur.”

Trump will win Iowa by a minimum of 30 points. New Hampshire will be about the same. DeSantis will ,if he’s lucky, be a distant 2nd but more likely 3rd.

Want to put a little money on it? Say $25 to FR?
