FORT WORTH - "My son had a lot of dreams and he was so talented," said Latoiya Landers. "I don't get it."
Landers' 14-year-old son Devin Baker was shot and killed Thursday morning after allegedly attempting to break in to a home in the Rosemont neighborhood. Now, Fort Worth police are investigating.
Police say they were called to the 5200 block of Southcrest Ct. in the Rosemont neighborhood of Fort Worth early Thursday morning for a call about a prowler. When they got there, a woman told them several people were attempting to break into her home but they had left the scene.

Latoiya, just about everyone here on FR gets it. Anyone with common sense does. Perhaps had you gotten "it," your son would be alive today.

Yup—if he were “talented” he might have become a professional art thief some day.

“My son is not a criminal.”
Technically true, for he WAS a criminal, now deceased because of his choices.
If he jumped off a bridge thinking that he was SpiderMan , would that make the mother feel better? Just a different bad choice.
She misses the point where the dead son would not be shot by anyone had he not been there, perhaps twice.

Early morning...What was the actual time? 12:01 AM is technically morning. But I'm sure there's no manipulation intended by the language.
What was he doing on property that wasn't his? Why was he anywhere near this home of a woman living alone? I suppose he may have been stopping by to ask for a donation to the local Boy's & Girls Club of America chapter.
Where are the rest of his donation seekers?
"I feel like they need to dig deeper," said Landers.
Don't look for it, Latoiya...

Sorry Latoiya. He was your son. IT WAS YOUR JOB TO "GET IT". Instead, you left it up to "The Village" to raise your kid.

“My son had a lot of dreams and he was so talented,”
He had an odd way of showing it.

Well at least the boi died doing what he loved! B&E! It’s just a joyful story with a tinge of sadness. Sadness cause some of the little basturds apparently got away.

Better headline would have been “ Terrorized neighbor lady kills invader with a single shot. Schoolmates respond by killing sea turtles with plastic balloons.”

Maybe mom should have told her son not to break in to other folks homes and steal stuff.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
And why in these, ahem, circumstances do the surnames of mother and son never seem to match?

I feel sorry for the homeowner, still having to kill anyone has to be traumatic.
