A 17-year-old boy who claims to be a girl could become the first male athlete to receive a women’s scholarship in NCAA Division I sports, according to Reduxx.
The outlet reported Wednesday that California resident Tate Drageset made a verbal commitment to play women’s volleyball at the University of Washington in June. If he signs the offer, he will claim one of 12 scholarships available for women on the team.
Drageset, who plays for the Actyve Volleyball Club in Santa Monica, California, already has helped several girls volleyball teams to championships, according to Reduxx.
He was named the MVP at the Girls Junior National Championships and won the California Interscholastic Federation’s Division 5 Player of 2022-23.
According to the report, the transgender outside hitter’s statistics far outpace those of the girls he faces.
“When compared to same-height female athletes within his volleyball club, Drageset’s standing reach, vertical jump, and other key physical metrics are all more favorable,” said the Independent Council on Women’s Sports, a nonpartisan organization that works to protect women’s sports.
The schools and teams have carefully hidden the fact that Drageset is a boy, according to Reduxx. However, it said, upset parents have been talking about the obvious biological differences between the taller, faster and harder-hitting teen and the girls he has faced and played with.
Some have told Reduxx that they have been intimidated into remaining quiet for fear that they will be branded as hateful and their daughters will be punished by the schools.
“Everyone is scared of how their child will be treated if they speak up. It’s already so competitive to get on a good club team,” one parent said. “The stealing of positions and opportunities has been infuriating and so sad when you see how it affects the girls.

Think what you want.
This guy is 6 feet tall. Explain how to train up a girl to grow that tall in order to compete. Is it more reps, more running, more weight room? What will get her there?
You mean like "undocumented entrants?"
“Where are the real women who will fight this?”
I think it is time to stop asking the question this way, and start asking, where are the men to stand up and take back their role in society? We are seeing the decay caused by years of weak men allowing women to lead, that needs to stop before any semblance of sanity can return.
Buckley is an expensive and exclusive LA prep school, with many celebrity grads and a history of such shenanigans.
In December 2017, Julie Taylor-Vaz, a Buckley School guidance counselor, learned that a Buckley student identified as “Eliza” Bass – a pseudonym given by Vanity Fair – had been accepted to Tulane University, Georgetown and Loyola Marymount as an “African-American tennis whiz, ranked in the Top 10 in California,” according to the report. The only problem was that the student was actually white and did not play tennis. Taylor-Vaz alerted her superiors and notified all three schools, Vanity Fair reports. All three denied the elicit applications and Eliza was allowed to pull her applications and reapply.
Do you mean the men that will lose their jobs and possibly go to jail? The real question is how did the government get so powerful to impose this insanity on our former meritocracy? It has assisted the inmates in taking over the asylum. The 19th amendment was the turning point.
And it's not discriminatory.
Damn government opened up pandoras' box and they think they did a good thing??
“The real question is how did the government get so powerful to impose this insanity on our former meritocracy?”
I would suggest the exact same way. I read an article several years ago that laid out a convincing argument that Americans did not start voting liberal until women began voting. I have tried and tried to find that article again but can’t. But when you consider we have an entire voting block we have to try to appeal to, who are voting for the government to fill the position that should be a husband, it isn’t hard to believe.
this issue is going to destroy the left at the polls eventually.
It sure hasn’t yet.
If it’s the height thing that is the concern, then here’s the womens’ international team and their heights. Everything from 5’ 5” to over 6’ 8”.

Title IX is both a good and bad thing. I’ll use the University of Colorado, a major university, as an example.
Since the 1972 conception of Title IX of the Education Amendments, the number of women participating in intercollegiate athletics has increased five-fold, from fewer than 30,000, to more 150,000 in 2001. However, more than 400 men’s athletics teams have been dismantled since Title IX, the law forbidding sex discrimination at institutions receiving federal funds, became law. Some would say this is due, in part, to Title IX enforcement standards like proportionality. Proportionality requires that an institution’s athletic population must be of an equal ratio to its general student body. Among some of the 400-plus teams dismantled by Title IX are several former Colorado State University teams including wrestling, baseball, gymnastics, men’s swimming and diving, and men’s tennis. CSU student athletes no longer sport the opportunity of participating in these activities at the NCAA Division I level, and the days of the student body rooting for their teams are gone, possibly forever. Now the search is on to find a solution to the problems associated with Title IX if, indeed, a solution is ultimately necessary.
My problem with title IX is that it creates sports for women that become a drag on my tax money. This is not a state or community spending but coming from the federal coffers not even close to covering the cost. Men’s programs are generally covered by the profit from the college football program and have historically been able to do a lot more for the institution involved for costs beyond the team like books and test tubes. So remember, higher level sports is a business and not hardly a participation recreation.
Womens’ sports, all reported, worldwide this year is scheduled to generate $1.26 billion is profits worldwide. Now some would think that is a large amount. But in comparison, an example is the NFL’s Sunday Ticket package — representing just one sport in one country on one platform — was recently sold to YouTube for $14 billion over seven years. So is womens’ sports paying for themselves? Ask the womens’ basketball leagues that have folded. Or the football leagues they tried and ended up suiting players in longerie to sell.
The ability of elite women to join the men in their leagues has been there since before the 1972 Title IX was signed. There are no programs at the elite level that women can’t join the men. But there are programs the other way where men can’t. So where’s the equality there? The men and women compete for jobs in the real world. Why not there?
So while the women take away from the men’s funds to create scholorships, they are not being competitive for that college education with the men which is what they are there to do anyway. So who really gets the use of the funds? It isn’t the students as both genders are students. Some used to call this reverse segregation. Just remove the reverse and it’s closer.

Womens’ place in society is now back on the bottom.
The women he beat out just have to learn how to lose gracefully.
We have not hit the best next step...
Wait until the major football teams realize that they can meet title 9 by labeling 1/2 their team ‘female’
JUST PLAIN WRONG-—ON EVERY LEVEL.
Exactly.
Anyone who voted for Biden. Unfortunately, that includes the majority of women.
Where are the feminazis when you need them?
