New report says Israel has conducted initial tests and begun to fill Hamas's underground tunnels with water from the Mediterranean Sea.
The Israeli military has begun pumping water from the Mediterranean Sea into Hamas' tunnel network, the Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday, quoting US officials familiar with the operations.
The move, still in its early stages, is one of several techniques Israel is using in its operation to eliminate the Hamas terror group.
A spokesperson for Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Gallant (Likud) declined to comment to WSJ, telling the news outlet that "tunnel operations are classified."
The Wall Street Journal report quoted the US officials as saying that Israel has installed seven industrial pumps, and began the process around when it added the last two pumps to the initial five and conducted initial testing.

US officials have expressed doubts about the effectiveness or feasibility of flooding a complex estimated to include hundreds of kilometers of tunnels, and have pointed out that doing so could damage Gaza's agriculture and freshwater supply. Israel is reportedly still examining whether or not flooding the tunnels is a realistic strategy, although Israeli officials have thus far declined to comment on the operation.

I wonder how many IDF soldiers are contributing to the effort by pissing on the tunnel openings. "Piss on you, you damn terror rats!".
Good! Flush them all out!
Using seawater puts a new twist on “salting the earth”...
oh no! the sea level will drop.
Bibi, please toss in a school of piranhas into the tunnels.
Well, then Israel should be able to argue that this is to help control the "climate crisis" which is causing the oceans to rise ...
NorCal does not have the political clout to deny Los Angeles.
See, it’s like this: BECAUSE IT’S DEMOCRATS, they ALL get on the same page. Los Angeles Democrats come to Sacramento, and Democrats in the Legislature all rally ‘round the cause, and there aren’t enough Republicans and Independents to overcome that voting bloc.
So — tail wags dog because Democrats all vote as a bloc.
Los Angeles wants to drink the Owens Valley dry; they vote as a bloc and do it.
Los Angeles needs water from the Imperial Valley from the mighty Colorado — they get it.
Los Angeles is still thirsty, and needs to drain Mono Lake; they do.
Somebody gets a bright idea to build a desalination plant right there in the shoreline of the Los Angeles Basin so they can get their won locally-funded drinking water from the sea OH NO! HOLD ON, Hoss! Unless that financial load is made to be shared with taxpayers statewide — no can do. So they get some greeniac commission to kill it off so no Democrat politicians have to take any blame.
Most people assume this means the tunnels will be pumped full, but this is probably not the case. So the question becomes “How much water is enough?”
Several considerations. First of all, water rapidly degrades structural integrity of support members, ceiling and walls, causing collapses and rockfalls. It’s unlikely that the ground is all impermeable rock, so areas of clay or sand will be degraded faster.
Second, once they have finished initial pumping, how rapidly will the seawater drain away?
I hope they don’t let those bitches wash up on American shores.
Dilute the water with sulfuric acid...
Better yet, fill the tunnels with methane and oxygen, then throw in a match...
OTOH, just send the IDF lots of film footage of the battles on Okinawa... The most efficient cure for tunnel vermin would shorten the war...
The hamas vermin are almost identical to the jap vermin in their inhume brutality to human beings...
Seawater has got electrolytes. It’s what terrorists crave.
Let’s ask Greta her opinion.
Who are these “officials”? Probably clueless deep state morons.
How do we know it’s a good idea? When the Russians call it a “War crime”.
LOL
don’t need to fill the tunnels completely up ... really, only about a foot of seawater would do the job, shorting out electrical equipment and making the tunnel a discussing, unlivable fetid mess ...
“How soon before the UN starts crying and complaining about Israel is draining too much of the Mediterranean and causing erosion on the coastal lands?”
wouldn’t that be a good way to compensate for the putative rise in the Mediterranean ocean, though?
But that’s where they’re warehousing them!/likely
Some of these tunnels apparently go down several hundred feet. So pump away, and let’s see what floats to the surface. Could take a long time, but so what. There is plenty of water in the Med to be used to flush the Pali toilet.
