I had no idea there was an International Men’s Day until it popped up on LinkedIn over the weekend. I never heard that there was such a day - upon inspection it seems like it’s big in India and outside of the USA.

No disrespect meant to the idea or cause, but this comes across as cringy. I don’t need or want a day to celebrate the collective of “men.” I mean, ALL men? Does that include Bidet? Schumer? Hamas? Trudeau?

I think “International Men’s Day” is equally as inane and stupid as “International Women’s Day” (although for all I know, it might be “International Women’s Month” which somehow seems more fitting)

But the fact you and I didn’t know about “International Men’s Day” but everyone on earth knows about “International Women’s Day/Month/Quarter/Year/Decade/Century” tells you all you need to know about the purpose of these stupid things, and what force is driving them.

It is the difference in suicide success rates that is at the root of why suicide is the biggest killer of males under the age of 40.

Suicide statistics reveal that women are roughly three times more likely to attempt suicide, though men are two to four times more likely to die by suicide which means when men do it, they really mean to do it, where in females who use less lethal techniques, it is regarded as “a cry for help”.

My workplace employs many eastern Indians. The LED signs are up to date on all the special "days", and yes, International Men's Day was flashing all week. Very silly.

We just ended Ethics Week, so when they were handing out cards with Whistleblower Phone Numbers at the front door, I told them that I was anticipating the end of the week, when I could go back to being unethical. That drew a nervous laugh.

They cleverly scheduled Men's Day for a Sunday. No one wished me a Happy Men's Day at church. We celebrated St. ELizabeth of Hungary instead.

Actually any gender distinction based upon biology is often attacked as transphobic, homophobic, racist, etc.. Meanwhile, behind suicide is the lie that this avails escape from problems, but aside from very rare cases, willful self-murder means your trouble has just begun. Only the Creator. Giver of Life, who knows what all the effects will be of every action or inaction and will work it all out for what is good, with justice as well as mercy and grace toward those who choose and follow the risen Lord Jesus, (Rom. 8:28) has the right to take life, aside from the just use of capital punishment, such as for those who take innocent life, which the Left promotes.

changing societal expectations

Right there's the problem. Get out of mama's basement. Grow up and be a responsible productive adult. Enough with the pansy act.

A lot of the problem is based in three things:

1) The cultural devaluation of the worth of men.

2) Unrealistic expectations taught to women about what they should want in men and in life. This is that from the age of about 15-30 they should sexually experiment with many partners, including have illegitimate children, then marry and settle down with a “provider” male, who should be satisfied with just providing for them.

Needless to say, men don’t want to marry such women.

3) The law, which is terribly imbalanced against men in situations of divorce and child support.

Objectively, Dating apps and Bridal stores are closing down, and the Men Going Their Own Way (MGTOW) movement is growing by leaps and bounds, along with “passport bros.” seeking foreign wives with traditional values. But even if they find a suitable wife in another country, they can’t bring her back “to the states”, for fear of her becoming culturally corrupted.
