Biden Releases Another $10 Billion to Iran

Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration has extended a sanctions waiver in order to release another $10 billion in frozen funds for Iran.

According to the Associated Press, the four-month extension will allow the Iranian regime access to previously frozen $10 billion in electricity revenues.

The Biden admin insists that the terror-linked Islamic dictatorship will use the funds for “humanitarian aid.”

However, experts have repeatedly warned that giving Iran to access frozen funds will free up money in Tehran’s money reserves.

By freeing up Iran’s reserves, the regime will be able to continue sponsoring terrorism and developing nuclear weapons.

The sanctions waiver will authorize Iraq to continue purchasing electricity services from Iran, according to the AP.

The move will also give Tehran access to the billions in payments currently stored in the Iraqi banks.

The Biden admin argues that Iran has only spent a small amount of the existing $10 billion.

The Iranian government has reportedly agreed that the fund will only be used for humanitarian relief.

The Biden admin also freed up $6 billion in previously frozen Iranian oil revenues in September, as Slay News reported.

The unfreezing was part of a hostage negotiations deal that saw the release of five American prisoners.

Foreign policy experts have slammed the Biden admin for allowing Iran to access frozen funds as it frees up its cash reserves for other purposes.

In a Tuesday post on Twitter/X, Richard Goldberg, senior advisor at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, warned that the funds will help Iran to fund terrorist attacks.

“Biden administration doubles down on giving $10 billion sanctions relief to Iran,” Goldberg said.

“Money is fungible.

“This is 100% budget support for the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism.”

Iran supports several terrorist groups to carry out its will, including Hamas.

Last month, Hamas killed over 1,400 civilians in attacks on Israel that began on October 7.

Iran-backed terrorists have launched 46 attacks on U.S. troops stationed in the Middle East since the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks.

samiam, I really don’t want to get crosswise with you on this...you have been on here longer than I have, and this is the first time in twenty years I think I have ever had discourse with you. I try to respect those who have been on here longer than I have, and besides, I am tired of being at odds with people who ostensibly should by my allies, not my irritated enemies.

So if this sounds harsh, it is not directed specifically at you...this is a situation that angers me, and has angered me since 1979.

Iran violated all norms and laws by taking over our embassy in Tehran in 1979. As of that time, they forfeited every single bit of forbearance, tolerance, or good will or faith they might have had in this country.

They kept US Citizens hostage for 444 days.

Beginning with the deaths of our servicemen in operation Eagle Claw, and extending all the way into TODAY, they have been responsible for the expenditure of hundreds of billions if not trillions of dollars to combat their open aggression.

Iran turned Lebanon into a blood bath in 1975, resulting in the loss of 150,000 lives.

They have been engaging in proxy wars never mind outright wars (as the Embassy takeover should have resulted in a declared war) for the intervening decades. they were directly responsible for thousands of deaths including many of our troops.

I don’t give a damn about “us making them do as we say”, and I regard that “excuse” from other people as an execrable show of pathetic weakness and an open invitation to aggression. Their leadership are a bunch of filthy, scummy. racist sons of bitches who should be strung up by their heels with piano wire as far as I am concerned.

I had Iranian friends before the tyrannical pukes took over in 1979 and have worked with many Iranian expatriates who attained American citizenship, and I enjoyed their company...many of the others I knew were forced to go back to Iran, so I judge Individual Iranians on their own merits.

If the rest of the world had any guts, Iran would have been international pariahs, cut off from all commerce, interactions, and aid in much the way North Korea has largely been.

If I had my way, Iran wouldn’t be allowed to produce a single drop of oil outside the Persian land mass, and the oil the did produce from their land would be good only for their consumption, and it would stay that way until they paid restitution to the rest of the world for their barbaric, racist, and blood-drenched actions in the last 40 years.

For what they have done to the world in general and the USA in particular, they. have NO “RIGHT” to ANY money, ANYWHERE. They have ZERO right to any money WE have any control over, and if the rest of the pathetic world had one single testicle between all of them, they would be on board for that.

“By freeing up Iran’s reserves, the regime will be able to continue sponsoring terrorism and developing nuclear weapons.”

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: There IS going to be another 9-11 on American soil, but this time on steroids. Nukes.

More and more likely under the NEXT President’s watch.

We are so, SO screwed!

samiam, the heat in that post was not intentionally directed at you-it is a subject that goes quite deep in me.

As I watch the world around me, it is is a deliberate activity to keep my perspective in the best frame of mind, and this issue is one I have thought on for many years.

The liars in the Biden administration say that this $10 billion won’t be used to fund terrorism because it’s earmarked for humanitarian purposes. And they expect us to believe it.

You don’t need to be apologetic to me. You’ve been here a while yourself, and probably remember when people used to discuss ideas and opinions without hating those who disagree.

I know that Iran has been causing trouble for a while now. I do not like what they have become, but how much of that is our own fault? I am no liberal snowflake, but there is a point to be made that the U.S. likes to go around the world poking other countries in the chest and telling them what to do.

The system we have created has made it possible for people like Joe Biden to determine when Iran gets to use their own money. That doesn’t help the cause of peace at all, but makes it more elusive. People like Joe Biden, Ronald Reagan or even George Washington have no business making decisions like that for entire nations of people.

Then you have people on this forum who knee-jerk react because it was Joe Biden who released their money. My question is, “Why are we doing it this way?” How about a FAFO policy? If Iran is a sovereign nation, they should be left to their own devices. If they cause enough trouble to require intervention, that intervention should be swift and decisive. Intervention should be costly for both sides, lest we grow too fond of it.

Instead, we try to micromanage the entire world and wonder why we are hated virtually worldwide.

Man. It’s a good thing the (R)N(C) just handed Obama, I mean Biden, the blank but signed taxpayer check-book. I was worried the party of ‘small govt’ might never return

Keep voting that faux dichotomy, FRiends. Some day, SOMETHING might change for the better *roll eyes*

Thank you for your civil response. I see this differently than you do...I suspect this is an area we will not find “middle ground” on, but I hope we can agree to a difference of opinion.
