Virginia Democrat Danica Roem was projected to win her election Tuesday, according to Decision Desk HQ, becoming the commonwealth’s first openly transgender state senator and the first out transgender person elected to a state Senate anywhere in the South.
Roem, 39, defeated former Fairfax County police detective Bill Woolf, a conservative Republican endorsed by Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R), who vowed to bar transgender athletes from competing on school sports teams if elected.

I wouldn't vote for either of them, and would rather sit home if that was the only choice I had. I'm no longer a registered Republican. After almost 45 years, I changed my registration to "no party" after January 6th. I'll never register in any party ever again. I didn't even vote today, because I don't give two $hits about the GOP, because they don't give two $hits about me, or protecting my ballot from voter fraud.
One of the reasons they should allow DC to become a state but that everything in the Beltline as well as key suburbs with DC workers outside of it become part of that state. Then Virginia becomes dark red and Maryland becomes a swing state.
