After more than 20 years of working for his hometown newspaper, the Democrat and Chronicle in Rochester, N.Y., Steve Bradley was laid off amid pandemic-induced cost-cutting in May 2020. He was crushed, but he eventually took a communications job for a local school district.
Sitting in the bleachers at the school softball field in July 2022, Bradley took a phone call from an unknown number. He listened as J. Nelson Thomas, an employment lawyer he’d never met, presented a jarring claim: Bradley was laid off because he is White.
Now, Bradley is one of five named plaintiffs in a proposed class-action lawsuit that claims the country’s largest newspaper publisher “discriminated against non-minorities” to achieve diversity goals. Filed in August in Virginia federal court, the suit alleges that Gannett fired White employees, denied them opportunities for advancement and replaced them with less-qualified minority candidates as the company sought to diversify its workforce.

Not only is this lawsuit awesome, but there couldn’t be a better defendant for it.
I don’t blame them for filing a lawsuit.
What goes around comes around.
If you consider race in hiring, your policy is racist, which is illegal.
Unless you are auditioning actors to play Louis Armstrong in an upcoming movie about him.😉
The Democrat and Chronicle is another example of a long-time city-specific newspaper that is nearly comatose and deserves death.
As a white employee, he also probably had long tenure - so was costly for the newspaper. Probably a NY lib himself if he worked for that rag, so its difficult to feel too sorry for him.
There’s a generation of people still alive who only get their news from print. They need to be propagandized too. I don’t doubt that the owners of these newspapers get some kind of support for serving this critical deep-state role.
I was just thinking yesterday that it’s been several YEARS since I even saw a printed newspaper....
“Racis’” employees sued. How it may be seen.
🙏🇺🇸🇮🇱👍
Just last night I was in a store and looked at the local rags print edition and it was noticeably smaller in size than it used to be dimension wise. They have become shadows of what they once were. Not long for this world is my guess. They are going the way of the old phone booth.
Yea. Right. Ask white males all about it.
I have seen newsprint recently and in fact grew up reading printed news and consequently using it to line the parrot cage and to train puppies. still use it in the parrot cage but not to train puppies. apparently the puppies learned to read at the same time we stopped reading newsprint and they refuse to even crap on it anymore. who knew?

One of the “pac-men” of newspapers.
May Gannett loose and the damages awarded exceed the value of the local newspaper + 50%. Divided 5 ways minus lawyer expenses.
Blacks make up only 12.5% of the US population, far less of the population with college degrees. Asians make up 6% of the population. It seems to me that they are discriminating against Asians, just like the colleges and universities are.
Good. Choosing or dismissing anyone on the basis of skin color is wrong.
Diversity destroys
"Shannon Phillips won $600,000 in compensatory damages and $25 million in punitive damages on Monday after a jury in New Jersey found that race was a determinative factor in Phillips' firing, in violation of federal and state anti-discrimination." I noticed the new business design for Starbucks (at least in my area) - is NO inside seating area - drive-thru only or walk-up window to order - and no where to sit.
I knew this would be Gannett.
They own our local rag, which has turned into nothing but HS sports and an LGBT article every day.
I would wager that these 5 presstitutes fully supported this concept and more than likely made arguments on it’s behalf for many years, Now that they are victims of their very own ideals and beliefs, they want to sue. Award them each One Dollar and exile them to Syria.
