NEWS: Former Trump lawyer Sidney Powell is pleading guilty in the Georgia election subversion case, one day before her trial was scheduled to begin.
It is officially illegal to question the results of any election a Democrat ‘wins’.
If the charges against Trump and Powell are based on the same statute or legal theory, Powell could get her conviction overturned if Trump is vindicated. In such a manner Conrad Black went from federal prison to free man. He had lost at trial and all appeals, but when the legal theory applying the fraud statute used against Black was overturned by the US Supreme Court in an unrelated case, Black’s conviction was quickly vacated as well.
I wouldn't waste a minute of my time defending this dingbat huckster.
From everything I've seen, they are not.
Interesting possible theory. But it assumes Sidney refuses to take a plea bargain and therefore is sent to prison on felony charges.
But does Ms. Powell really want to sit in jail waiting and hoping that Trump is vindicated?
She is smart to take the misdemeanor plea deal.
you forgot the sultry CIA agent/director Gina Haspel who took place in the raid and was serious injured.
The CIA and FBI are using everything in their playbook and many of us had no idea. We have to remember that are using psychological warfare against us. We must be sober minded at all times.
“4D chess” was something they used against us. Not the other way around.
Dropped the felonies and pleaded to one misdemeanor
Willis would have had to put on a trial charging conspiracy, where none of the co-conspirators would have been present, and prosecuting would have been a very difficult process, and would have shown the strategy for future prosecutions. Powell was facing seven felony counts, so dropping those, and avoiding a costly trial helps her, of course.
As for Powell as a witness, I'm not sure how that would go in a conspiracy trial. She's not going to be a reliable supporter of the conspiracy theory, and she knows her way around a courtroom, and the law.
This to me looks like a clean-up by Willis, seeing that she has far too much to handle, and is trying to get rid of some of the mess she knows she created.
When Scott Hall agreed to cooperate, it was only a matter of time before Powell would be targeted.
True enough.
Yet somehow she was in the Oval Office in December.
Did they decide “not to hire her” or to fire her? Virtually every report refers to her as a “former Trump attorney.”

Coffee County... but yeah.
Scott Hall took a deal for allegedly being involved in this.
Of course has has to testify truthfully. But she will have signed a proffer with the prosecution as well.
The proffer agreement which she made with prosecutors details specifically what she is willing to testify to under oath against Trump and the other co-defendants. If she doesn’t abide by the terms of the proffer, she voids her plea agreement and goes to jail.
I do not know the details of the charges, but I assume that even if the statutes charged differ, similar First Amendment defenses apply in both cases.
Correct.
