I’m not upset at McCarthy’s ousting, but I am not sure anything is accomplished when we pretend he was the real problem here.

The bigger issue is that the 8 “far right” Republicans who led the move to oust him are outnumbered by the 18 Republicans representing districts Biden won in 2020. There’s no way to promote a unified agenda in this kind of environment.

Who are McCarthy’s powerful donors? It took 15 ballots to get him elected Speaker. I guess the donors wete donoring somewhere else. And exactly how was an ousted McCarthy going to retaliate.? Take away a parking permit. Gaetz did the Dems a great service. Whoever the next Speaker is he/she will be aware this can happen to him and he needs Dem support to repel Gaetz if Gaetz decides to do it again. The price for the Dems staying out... oh how about shutting down the committee investigations into Biden(s).

210 Rinos that voted for business as usual.

No wonder Trump had to fight so hard to get anything done.

Continuing Resolutions for 3 DECADES is not “budget negotiations”.... It’s malfeasance.

Burn it all down (metaphorically speaking) and start over...

The fact that McCarthy allowed Pelosi to keep the Speaker’s office this whole time speaks volumes

Well, for all intents and purposes, Pelosi was still the Speaker.

Maybe that question should be asked once the dust settles and all of McCarthy and McConnell’s side deals are brought to light.

“Trump took to Truth Social to berate Republicans for their disunity, writing, “Why is it that Republicans are always fighting among themselves, why aren’t they fighting the Radical Left Democrats who are destroying our Country?”

Am I the only one here that finds this comment of Trump’s a bit ironical .....considering how he has been “fighting against” certain Republicans and seemingly not caring about “unity” himself?

I loathe hypocrisy coming from the left... and when I see it coming from someone on our side... I hate it even more.

I always liked Gingrich when he came up in the late seventies in suburban Atlanta.

One day I encountered a “Foreign Affairs,” the Council on Foreign Relations magazine, with a Gingrich written article in it. Guess who was a member. Old Newt is as establishment as one can get.

This entire thing is just a clown show.

Yes McCArthy is out. Woo Hoo… but there no chance of replacing him with someone who isn’t an establishment Republican.

Maybe whoever replaces him will be a little less tone deaf and not think Nancy will have his back and listen to the far right of the members more but I don’t see any major win here.

I know some here thinks this is awesome and I have no love of McCArthy but do I think some radical shift has occurred politically because of this… no, not at all.
