This is the shocking moment a 21-year-old YouTuber prankster's stunt went badly wrong when a deliver driver he was targeting pulled out a gun and shot him in the chest.
Video shows Tanner Cook, 21, who runs the Classified Goons YouTube channel, harassing Alan Colie as he picked up a food order at the Dulles Town Center mall in Sterling, Virginia, on April 2.
Cook can be seen following Colie around the mall while thrusting his phone in his face as it plays the bizarre phrase, 'Hey dips**t, quit thinking about my twinkle' multiple times using a Google Translate app.
Colie backs away from Cook and tells him to stop three times before trying to knock the phone away from his face as the YouTuber continues to advance towards him.
It was at this point that Colie's stunt went badly wrong when the delivery driver pulled out a gun and shot the YouTuber in the lower left chest.
The shooting sparked panic as shoppers fled what they feared to be a mass shooting as police officers pinned Colie to the ground and arrested him. He was charged with aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and discharging a firearm inside a building.
But last week, Colie, who has a license to carry a concealed weapon, was found not guilty of aggravated malicious wounding in the shooting after he said he was acting in self defense.
He was found guilty on a lesser charge of shooting into an occupied dwelling but a judge will hear arguments to set aside this conviction at a hearing next month after his lawyer appealed against it. If found guilty of this lesser firearms count, he faces up to 10 years in prison.

“not threatening”? Some young, strong 6’4’ guy follows you around and repeatedly sticks a phone in your face despite you repeatedly requesting that he stop and leave you alone. He does so while sounding completely insane.
I can easily see why this guy found that behavior threatening. The jury felt the same way.
More of these idiots who pull dangerous “pranks” like this for clicks are going to get shot.
No matter how many "protections" we have in law, we effectively have none when states prosecute for events like this.
The charge is due to the prosecutors throwing everything they thought they could and seeing if the jury would buy it
Instead of going after the guy who makes a living by harassing people, they went after the guy who defended himself.
What good is a "right" to self defense if you're prosecuted for defending yourself?
What would happen to the “prankster” if he did this to a cop or politician?
In a wonderful act of karma, it’d be hilarious if some YouTuber started following the perp Cook 24/7 and live-streamed it. He could blast heavy metal during the live stream to drown out Cook’s antics.
It’d be even funnier if someone tried this prank on the prosecutor!
But there are also several sites on Youtube such as Frauditor Troll and Take Down Exposing Frauditors that expose these "frauditors," as their detractors call them.
The Daily Mail is one newspaper whose journalists are as bad as TV-station ones. Terrible writing, lots of factual mistakes, and so on.
One moral of this story: Carry a firearm if it fits you. But also carry something less lethal. Police-grade pepper spray would have been the correct tool here.
When I’m king, YouTube pranksters and all online “influencers” will receive the death penalty.
I guess he never watched the bank robbery episode of Dave Chappel’s “Zapped”.

I considered other news outlets’ coverage before going with Daily Mail.
DM’s headline said it all vs other headlines. I wanted to bring good discussion to FR about many elements of liberty and responsibility and culture.
DM got some things wrong, true that. But thankfully it’s not a toilet like Gateway Pundit or Slay News or (the getting better but still awful) American Thinker.
The word they were looking for here was "stalking".
I hate those social media pranksters. They’re just snot-nosed thugs in my opinion. This scumbag decided to hassle a guy just trying to do his Doordash job, and he got what he deserved.
FAFO!!!!
Good shoot.
“Colie’s stunt?” The author of this article confuses the reader.
The Tanner Cooks of the world are what happen when stigmatize and punish people defending themselves and you start rewarding people who get a laugh out of bulling people with attention and money. That is what this kid was- a bully. He calls it a prank, but it is bullying behavior to push yourself into someone else’s space to entertain yourself and others at their expense.
The interview with the dork’s dad revealed that as a father he didn’t raise his son right. Father’s might forgive their sons bad behavior, but they should never justify it.
Twice.
If I were Colie I would press charges against Cook for harassment and assault. There is no question this was Cook's fault and it was done on purpose. "Just having fun" is no excuse for his criminal and threatening behavior.
