The footage shows flames engulfing the institution, symbolising the loss of knowledge, culture, and community resources. This act of destruction represents a tragic blow to the city's cultural heritage and a deeply concerning manifestation of the ongoing unrest.

While no where near as significant to me it mirrors the loss of the Library of Alexandria...though the legend of it’s burning isn’t 100% accurate.

From 1790-1815 and from 1914-1918 France lost forever its best genetic stock. After 1945 the remnant instituted policies that were akin to cultural suicide. France is now undergoing deconstruction as it is transforming and transitioning. It will take some time before Americans disabuse themselves of their notion of what was once France. The burning of Notre Dame and that library is more than symbolic.
We have a front row seat from which to watch the collapse of civilization. Ah, if only I were still young enough to rape and pillage.
