Former President Donald Trump, a 2024 Republican presidential candidate, promised to appoint a special prosecutor to go after the Biden family and others in a post on Truth Social on Monday.
He posted:

Despite all of the evidence they did not lock her up. She still should be locked up with the addition of the Russia Hoax to undermine the presidency of TRUMP which is treason.

I actually think Trump wanted to just move the country forward and didn’t want to do exactly what the Rats are doing now. Much of what they say about Trump is purely fake. Watch his speech after he got elected in 2016. When he took to the stage the crowd started screaming lock her up and Trump stopped them. He was ready to move on and MAGA. He wanted to bring everyone together. Crooked Hillary the vengeful started her plan a day later. I think now Trump believes that you can’t MAGA without clearing out the rot. Whereas I think the first go the lock her up thing wasn’t a core of what Trump actually wanted to accomplish, this time it is.

Sounds very naive, looking back. Even before Trump took office, Paul Ryan & the GOP members of the Senate Intelligence committee were already siding with the Dem's...the FBI, CIA, and State Department were openly conspiring against him, his choices for key positions were nowhere near up to the task (Jeff sessions...my god). The media had decided to actively abet a coup...

Yep. This morning local conservative radio played a “lock her up” clip from Trump on the campaign trail.....then played another clip after he was elected stating “yeah lock her up sounds good on the campaign trail, but we’re not gonna do that.”
Unbelievable......he had his chance.

Part of the motivation for continuing the Russia! Hoax was to protect Hillary. They wanted to tie up Trump with impeachments and nonsense for imaginary crimes to keep him from going after Hillary for real crimes. The Steele Dossier probably saved Hillary from having to cope a plea for mishandling classified information, for real and obstruction of justice, for real.
A Special Prosecutor? I heard John Durham is available.

Wouldn’t any special prosecutor come from a pool of layers in DOJ that appear to be 90% democrat supporters? Am I missing something? Can a president hand-pick a special prosecutor or do they have to be approved by someone in a process involving the opposite party?
It's telling that Trump is careful to parse his words here. Notice, he doesn't promise to remove all illegals, only the 'criminal' elements.

The problem here is that nobody - and I mean NOBODY - is talking about going after the real ‘big guy’ in this.
