Florida Governor Ron DeSantis responded to Donald Trump's recent attack on former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, saying that it was "really, really bad."
"Donald Trump, even his greatest supporters have acknowledged, had a tough time picking good people. He had a lot of terrible personnel decisions, people like Jerome Adams, his Surgeon General...so we know there was a tough record, but Kayleigh was one of the greatest selections. She did a fantastic job," DeSantis, who is also a 2024 Republican presidential candidate, said while appearing on the NH Journal podcast on Friday.
DeSantis added: "She's a Harvard-trained lawyer, she's an absolute killer, and she ate the press alive, and so for him [Trump] to be attacking her, I thought that was really, really bad."

True. It worked for him when he attached his Primary opponents in 2016. But Kayleigh isn’t an opponent, and it isn’t 2016.
We all know he can do the job because he’s done it. He should be confident in that knowledge. He can afford to tamp it down about 50%.

Ron the con is not a likeable person. He is stiff and cold and has no personality. He isn’t moving the needle in polls and will be the 2024 version of Jeb Bush.
Maybe. Even if he doesn't, I don't see DeSantis getting more than 60 million votes. I might even vote RDS in the primary, but a lot of people are solidly Trump and will sit out the election if he's not the candidate.
These are the facts on the ground. I don't like them, but one has to face reality. You and I can't make people like or vote for Florida's great governor.
Optimally, Trump could have decided against a 2024 run, or DeSantis could have waited until 2028. But here we are. Pissing and moaning about it for the next year and a half.
They want DeSantis as President. And it would not be terrible. The dems know he would bring back America first policies like Trump but because DeSantis is a politician so they can continue doing regular business. I think at this point Trump will still beat DeSantis at this point. It’s why they are going after Trump with all these bs charges. Slowly pushing his supporters to DeSantis. My guess is if DeSatis gets the nod to run they won’t try to steal it. Just my opinion. I would rather have Trump myself.
