Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. named former Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) as his campaign manager on Thursday, bringing a credible voice of the anti-war movement into his growing team.
In a statement, the Kennedy campaign said:
Mr. Kucinich has long been known as one of the foremost progressive voices in American politics. In 1977 he became, at age 31, the mayor of the city of Cleveland and one of the youngest big-city mayors ever. In 1996 he was elected to the House of Representatives, where he served for 16 years.
During his time in Congress, Kucinich led the effort against the Iraq War and the Patriot Act, and served as the chair of the progressive caucus. He competed in the Democratic Presidential primary in 2004 and 2008. He is the author of several books, including the acclaimed “The Division of Light and Power.”

Dennis is one of the more honest among Democrats. He might have some wacky policy positions, but I trust him more than many Pubbies.
RFK Jr. had a good chance. Now he’s kaput.
Another Kennedy bringing the art of Self-sabotage to yet greater heights. Except it’s the same ol’ same ol’.
Libs gotta lib.
I remember his “Power to the People” banner hung up on the muni light plant in Cleveland. I don’t know what happened with that but I sure remember the banner. :)
What a loser. Why not Howard “YYYYYEEEEAAAAAGHHHHH” Dean?
“During his time in Congress, Kucinich led the effort against the Iraq War and the Patriot Act”
Bravo!
Because this forum has a large population of du operatives, propagandists and trolls now.
Evidenced by how hard Jim’s gotta push the freepathons recently.
My takeaway from this is “a high-profile Dem is openly opposing Biden” (which may encourage others), not “oh noes, RFK hired a leftist campaign manager.” Pretty sure the campaign manager does not decide the candidate’s policy positions.
Not true in the case of Fetterman or Biden.
Thr “fringe” politicians over the years have usually been much more accurate when it comes to detailing problems with government and the system overall. As a general rule, if you were the “1” or 2 votes against something you probably got it right. It just about all cases
If your government’s going to go bankrupt, who better to have involved than Dennis the Menace. He did a bang-up job at sinking Cleveland back in the 70s.
Remember that Kucinich had the guts to stand up to Obama.
RFK Jr. is looking for Goliath killers.
I may not agree with him on everything, and I strongly disagree with him on some things,
but he is a very smart, and, I believe, very honest man.
Comes up a little short with that choice.
Yeah—I don’t get appointing all these old people to critical positions.
It is a no brainer that any campaign needs a high energy campaign manager.
Major blunder—possibly fatal.
Kucinich’s wife was and still is gorgeous.
When Dennis was the Cleveland mayor he got into a dispute with a bank and publicly withdrew all the City’s money. This was right after Perry robbed the bank. A Cleveland paper put side by side pictures of Perry robbing the teller and Dennis in the bank on their front page with the caption “Kucinich brothers make bank withdrawals.”
Good, now pick Manchin (who has been talking up a possible third party run) as your VP and let’er rip Bobby junior!
If that was to happen the rodents would not be able cheat enough to win.
That’s funny. I need to find my ancient Alex Bevan records now.
