Jury finds Trump DID sexually abuse E. Jean Carroll in Bergdorf Goodman dressing room in the 1990s: Ex-President is cleared of rape but ordered to pay her $5m damages

A jury has found that Donald Trump sexually abused E. Jean Carroll.

The panel of six men and three women also found that Trump injured advice columnist Carroll in a Manhattan Bergdorf Goodman dressing room and defamed her, ordering the former President to pay her $5million in damages.

Trump has been accused of sexual misconduct or assault by more than two dozen women, but this has so far been the only case to end up before a jury.

Carroll, 79, sued for battery under the Adult Survivors Act, a law passed in New York that allowed a one year window for sexual assault claims normally outside of the statute of limitations.

Her claim for defamation was based on statements made by Trump, 76, when he was President and posts to Truth Social, his own social network in which he called her a liar.

Over two weeks the jury heard emotional testimony from three accusers and two of Carroll's friends, among other witnesses, while Trump himself was a no show.

Wrong yet again!

The jury took the words of the judge, which E.Jean NEVER claimed, that he had kissed on on f=her face/cheek, which was an unwanted sexual abuse.

The term “ex post facto” comes to mind.

As well as “bill of attainder”, because this law was clearly intended just to “get Trump.”

Then he needed to testify to that. He could have testified. The thing I think you are tripped up with is civil tort standards are very different from criminal complaints. In this case is just the preponderance is the evidence. Considering trump failed to testify the jury apparently decided that there was enough evidence that sexual abuse claim was valid and that does not require an exact date and time which would be needed to show beyond a reasonable doubt.

Yawn. More fake news and dual systems. Biden had this claim made about him. They shut her up real quick and there was evidence of them actually in the same room.

“Not Guilty”

“Not Guilty”

“Not Guilty”

We will repeat until it’s believed. Including all these cases.
We CAN do this too!

No, SHE claimed that he had penetrated her vagina with either his penis or his fingers, she couldn’t be sure which it was. Either would be battery, but it would only meet the legal definition of rape if he had done it with his penis. You can argue about who you believe, but the jury believed her and they concluded that he had committed sexual battery. Did you even pay any attention to what she accused him of doing?

A friggin’ ‘law’ NY passed for just this occasion!

What a crock. Thrown out on appeal, no doubt, but the Enemy Media gets it’s pound of flesh and Advertising Dollars while they trash President in Exile, Trump. :(

We are in SUCH a World Of Hurt these days. Glad I’ll be dead and have left no heirs before it ALL comes to fruition.

Exactly true for me. A shame we good people have to be in that position now.

But you said he shouldn’t appeal, because his likelihood of prevailing is slim. I said he must appeal, so as to avoid this verdict being used politically, despite the fact that his chances are slim. His counsel, it seems, agrees with me, as does Orange Man Great.

And ill stand by that. Given that the conclusion of his last lawsuit included paying sanctions in the amount of $937,000 to Hillary Clinton, with all due respect I think Trump’s choice of legal strategies isn’t above scrutiny

It's unconstitutional on several level, one of which is that President Trump was prosecuted persecuted on what amounts to a thinly disguised bill of attainder.

But that would be considered rape which claimed he raped her and the jury found that he was not liable for rape.???
