And even in the Black community, you’re seeing a lot of people actually say racism in the public schools is something that is driving them to homeschool.

Before anyone gets their knickers in a twist, this is caused by leftists and moderates: less than one-third of educators are conservative or voted for Trump in 2016.

I slightly disagree that the kids going to public school are weird - they don't have a say in the matter by and large. The PARENTS are the ones with the issues.

The Public School started all this with their virtual and remote classes during Covid; many parents saw their kids being happier and better served and saw the light of home-schooling.

I grew up in a Catholic neighborhood where all the kids except one family went to Catholic school, St. Mark’s in St. Paul Minnesota. We thought the one families’ kids in the neighborhood that attended public school were weird.

What parents & kids in Democratic hellholes need is state & city income/property tax credits for private school tuition.

Public schools have become a cesspool due to:
— Leftist bent of many teachers
— The inability of teachers to impose discipline in the classroom
— Teachers encouraging kids to be LGBTQ+
— Indoctrination is increasing being passed off as “teaching”
— The loosening of standards such that kids can turn in a semester’s worth of homework on the last day of class.

No thanks.

A friend of mine recently took his kids out of public school. He and his wife are home-schooling them. When I asked him why, he said they found the TEACHERS in today’s schools to be a bunch of repulsive misfits.

89% aren’t homeschooled

Get back to me when 60% are homeschooled

I support homeschooling, private and parochial schools.

I think government schools, of various types, should exist only for children with special needs. Children who may spend their lives in one sort of institution or another. If a child is developmentally disabled, then a government school specializing in that may be appropriate. If a child is violent, anti-social, and has a low IQ, then a sort of government school which is a Prison-For-Children is appropriate to get them ready for the Real Deal which they will inevitably experience when they are older.

From my (old) perspective, it almost seems like some schools are training kids to be sex workers. They’re certainly not doing a good job of teaching subjects like math or history, but they make sure the kids are tolerant of different sexual practices.

“increasing number of school shootings”

https://img1.wsimg.com/isteam/ip/f021e984-7ec8-4011-80df-5c7624ed04c0/US%20News%20Graphic%205%2027%202022.JPG

Based on that graph, the Parkland shooting year had the worst number of kids killed at school - about 50 in total.

“CDC data from 2021 showed 4,733 children ages 1-19 died from gun-related incidents.”

https://www.snopes.com/news/2023/03/29/guns-leading-deaths-children-us/

~50 (school-related) versus 4733 (all cause)

I suspect the lack of “respect” for life is the really big problem.

This gives the nature of school shootings.

Riedman, David (2022). K-12 School Shooting Database

I will point out that school shootings have soared since Obama took office as President, probably IMO due to media publicity in support of gun-grabbing efforts.

The point is not that kids going into public schools are weird. It is that the kids coming out of public schools after 12 years of educational malpractice will be seen as weird…because they commonly already are. Witness the insanity that GenZ people display regarding sexual identity, “climate anxiety,” economic and historical illiteracy, totalitarian political extremism— and with no awareness at all how these beliefs, inculcated in schools, will doom them to serfdom in this generation.

They all look me in the eye and talk to me. They have social skills unlike the kids who went to public school

I think the time is coming - and coming soon - where public schools will no longer have individual classrooms with an individual teacher. It will start in the higher maths, where I could see a state having ONE calculus teacher for the state and then the instruction is broadcast to a classroom where an adult handles the administrative work of attendance, turning on the laptop, etc.

It would be a huge cost saving approach - and then it will happen in other classes and more and more probably down as low as 4th grade.

Kids will have to go to a private school, or homeschooling, to get the experience that most of us had. In time, public schools will be for those who cant afford a private school or for those with disabilities that cant be accommodated in a private school.
