Decision to Sack Tucker Carlson Came Straight from Rupert Murdoch: Report
Yahoo ^ | 4/24/23 | Jeff Zymeri

he decision to fire Tucker Carlson from his ratings juggernaut show on Fox News reportedly came straight from Rupert Murdoch.

The exact factors which contributed to the anchor’s exit have not been officially confirmed by Fox, but sources have told various outlets that there were several factors involved in the decision. Persons familiar with the situation told the Los Angeles Times that Murdoch, the Fox Corporation chairman, was concerned about Carlson’s coverage of the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, in which Carlson downplayed events as “mostly peaceful chaos” and promoted the notion that it was provoked by government agents.

Carlson was roundly criticized for his comments, including by a number of Republican senators. “The American people saw what happened on Jan. 6,” explained Senator Mitt Romney (R., Utah) to reporters. “They’ve seen the people that got injured, they saw the damage to the building. You can’t hide the truth by selectively picking a few minutes out of tapes and saying this is what went on. It’s so absurd. It’s nonsense.”

Thanks. Here’s some information on Staple Street. They are a client of Kirkland & Ellis, one of major law firms that bankroll the Democratic Party. Kirkland and Ellis has some shady deals involving Staple Street. They represented both sides of Staple Street’s 2019 acquisition of Ivy Technologies. They acquired Dominion in 2018. In early October 2020 the firm filed with the SEC to raise $800 million or more. What sort of legal system allows a company involved in counting ballots be owned by a private equity firm. Do we even know who invested the $800 million plus? It could be anybody. It could be a foreign adversary? How would we know? And now they’ve silence the opposition to Democratic Party at Fox News? This is all very sinister and malevolent.

Fox platformed people who claimed Dominion was a witting or unwitting party to voter fraud.

"Platformed"? You mean allowed them to speak? Are we our brothers keeper? Are we responsible for what other people say?

No, I reject that claim. Allowing someone to speak is not libelous. If anyone bears responsibility, it's the speaker, not the provider of a microphone.

And this was while Dominion repeatedly reached out to Fox to deny the allegations.

This comes closer. If they give one speaker an opportunity to say things about a company, they should give the company an opportunity to respond.

And how do we know they didn't give Dominion an opportunity to respond, but Dominion didn't take it? This claim doesn't pass the smell test.

If MSNBC nightly had on guests who said Ron DeSantis was a pedophile, MSNBC would be liable for handing over their microphones to those lunatics.

I don't think so. My understanding is that public officials have to prove actual malice, and "lunatics" wouldn't meet that standard. This is why garbage outlets like MSNBC already get away with their lies.

When people say that the Murdochs were somehow merely playing a part in a staged arrangement with Dominion, I respond that had they wanted to serve up a win for Dominion they could have done so with an apology rather than spending almost $800 million dollars.

Well perhaps you would like to see an alternate view of what is going on.

And with clever accounting, it'll be both a profit and a tax write off.

I pay no attention to which lawyers someone hires.

The same employment lawyer represents both Tucker Carlson and Don Lemon. I doubt either cares about Bryan Freedman’s politics.

Blackrock owns almost half of FOX.

There you have it!

I’m beginning to see the light. (or the deep dark dank.)

Don’t believe all the stories about why Tucker was fired.

The real reason: Tucker’s home run getting the January 6 tapes resulted in all kinds of speculations about his future. Thus, Rupert’s ego could not handle that Tucker was becoming perceived bigger than the network - and thus bigger than the “king” himself.

And that’s the reason, short and sweet.

Keep seeing reports it had less to do with Jan 6th and more the hate and discontent he was brewing.
