he decision to fire Tucker Carlson from his ratings juggernaut show on Fox News reportedly came straight from Rupert Murdoch.
The exact factors which contributed to the anchor’s exit have not been officially confirmed by Fox, but sources have told various outlets that there were several factors involved in the decision. Persons familiar with the situation told the Los Angeles Times that Murdoch, the Fox Corporation chairman, was concerned about Carlson’s coverage of the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, in which Carlson downplayed events as “mostly peaceful chaos” and promoted the notion that it was provoked by government agents.
Carlson was roundly criticized for his comments, including by a number of Republican senators. “The American people saw what happened on Jan. 6,” explained Senator Mitt Romney (R., Utah) to reporters. “They’ve seen the people that got injured, they saw the damage to the building. You can’t hide the truth by selectively picking a few minutes out of tapes and saying this is what went on. It’s so absurd. It’s nonsense.”

NBCUniversal CEO Jeff Shell Forced Out After Sexual Harassment Claim From CNBC Reporter Hadley Gamble
https://variety.com/2023/biz/news/jeff-shell-hadley-gamble-sex-harass-cnbc-1235592634/
Shell apologized Sunday for having had an “inappropriate relationship” with an unnamed company employee. Comcast, the parent company of NBCUniversal, and Shell announced in a joint statement that he would be stepping down immediately, following the results of an internal investigation.
“Following a complaint that Jeffrey Shell, CEO of NBCUniversal, engaged in inappropriate conduct with a female employee, including allegations of sexual harassment, Comcast Corporation (the “Company”) retained outside counsel to investigate the allegations,” the company said in the filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. “During the investigation, evidence was uncovered that corroborated the allegations. As a consequence, on April 23, 2023, the Company terminated Mr. Shell’s employment With Cause under his employment agreement, effective immediately.”

Along with his opposition to the Ukraine war......the swamp has spoken.
I’d be willing to bet that by sacking Carlson, Murdoch got a big discount on that 787.5 million settlement. This wasn’t about the money. It was about making Dominion look credible.
Is this why @FoxNews fired him? Was he planning to show this video? https://twitter.com/DailyCaller/status/1329596152862429185?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1329596152862429185%7Ctwgr%5E7a0596950bd802f8791801f076974a277669a569%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fheavy.com%2Fnews%2Ftucker-carlson-sidney-powell%2F
Excellent point …. wonder who all the stakeholders are?
Got some research to do….zzzzzz
Well people say so, therefore it must be true.
Me, sitting here thinking about what they did do, am having a hard time figuring out why other people are thinking what they think.
News programs have guests on the air all the time, and they are not responsible for what those people say.
Why would it be different now?
And I still have yet to hear anyone explain what exactly fox did that was libelous.
Tucker Carlson and Don Lemon ousted on the same day. We are told this is a coincidence.
George Soros is likely behind this. It was carefully planned arranged to give him full cover. I wouldn’t be surprised if he weren’t bankrolling the Dominion lawsuit.
Mitt must be removed
The sad thing some hope they join in some are into pain Biden didn’t give them enough of it.
Dominion is owned by multi-billion dollar private venture capital firms.
It didn’t need any outsider to bankroll its lawsuit.
“Sounds like Tucker’s exit had nothing to do with the Dominion settlement” and more to do the January 6 tapes.
If that is the case, and somehow proven to be the case, then all the Conservatives leery of Fox will expand exponentially and I can THEN see other Conservatives personalities working for Fox joining Tucker’s exodus AND THEN THAT could turn into a rout of viewers exiting from Fox. We’ll have to wait and see what develops.
Great question. McCarthy gave Carlson hundreds of hours of footage months ago yet we’ve only seen just over 10 minutes. McCarthy should release ALL the footage to the PUBLIC. (He should have done in the first place that rather than using Carlson to funnel it out.)
You “heard” that. In other words someone made it up and you believed it. Don’t trust rumors or anonymous sources.
“And I still have yet to hear anyone explain what exactly fox did that was libelous”
Fox platformed people who claimed Dominion was a witting or unwitting party to voter fraud. Since vote integrity is its business, that’d be defamatory if untrue, and it would severely damage its business. And this was while Dominion repeatedly reached out to Fox to deny the allegations.
If MSNBC nightly had on guests who said Ron DeSantis was a pedophile, MSNBC would be liable for handing over their microphones to those lunatics.
When people say that the Murdochs were somehow merely playing a part in a staged arrangement with Dominion, I respond that had they wanted to serve up a win for Dominion they could have done so with an apology rather than spending almost $800 million dollars.
Which private equity firm owns Dominion? So they funded the lawsuit?
